Architect / Interior Designer (Architectural Designer) — ATAM Studios
Hiring through Cyanique, a sister brand
Company Description
Cyanique is a design-led creative brand founded by architect and designer Tejal Agawane. The wider creative group also includes ATAM Studios , which provides architectural and interior design services, and Nyzora , which creates custom pet sculptures for customers in the United States.
This opening is for ATAM Studios , the group’s Mumbai-based design practice. The role combines architectural and interior design work, with ATAM projects as the primary focus. There may also be occasional opportunities to contribute design or visual work to Cyanique or Nyzora.
Role Description
We’re looking for a full-time, Mumbai-based Architect, Interior Designer, or Architectural Designer with strong skills across both architecture and interior design. Candidates may come from an architecture or interior design background; the key requirement is the ability to contribute to both types of work.
You’ll support projects from concept through execution, including design development, space planning, technical drawings, 3D modelling and visualization, realistic rendering, material selection, and coordination with clients, consultants, vendors, and site teams.
The role combines design and technical work with visual content creation. You should be able to communicate design intent clearly, prepare accurate drawings, produce polished and realistic renders, and help carry ideas through site coordination. You’ll use AI tools where they can support design research, concept exploration, visualization, and content production, applying your own judgment to refine the results.
ATAM’s architectural and interior design projects will be the priority. Cross-brand work will be occasional and based on the candidate’s skills and project needs.
Responsibilities
- Develop architectural and interior design concepts, layouts, mood boards, and client presentations.
- Support site analysis, space planning, circulation, and functional zoning.
- Prepare and update drawings, including plans, elevations, sections, details, and technical documentation.
- Create detailed 3D models and high-quality visualizations using Rhino or comparable professional 3D software .
- Produce realistic renders and enhance or convert design renders into polished, photorealistic visuals using rendering software and AI-assisted tools.
- Use AI tools for design research, concept exploration, visualization, image editing, and presentations.
- Create and edit images and video content for project presentations and brand communication.
- Assist with selecting materials, finishes, furniture, lighting, and fixtures.
- Prepare or support BOQs, specifications, estimates, and project documentation.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, vendors, and site teams.
- Attend site visits and help resolve design and execution questions.
- Track project progress, deadlines, and design revisions.
- Occasionally support Cyanique or Nyzora with relevant design and visual work.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field. A relevant diploma with a strong portfolio may also be considered.
- Around 2–4 years of relevant experience across architectural and interior design work.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and professional 3D software such as Rhino, Blender, 3ds Max, or comparable tools . SketchUp may be used, but should not be the candidate’s only 3D modelling software.
- Strong practical proficiency in rendering and visualization software, with the ability to produce realistic, presentation-ready renders. This is a required skill.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop . Experience with Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, or After Effects is useful.
- Ability to edit and enhance images and create or edit video content using Adobe software and AI-assisted tools.
- Familiarity with AI tools such as Midjourney, Adobe Firefly , or similar platforms for image generation, design exploration, and visual refinement.
- Ability to prepare accurate architectural and interior working drawings and communicate design intent clearly.
- Understanding of space planning, materials, finishes, furniture, and interior detailing.
- Experience coordinating with consultants, vendors, contractors, and project sites.
- Robust communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- A portfolio showing completed projects, realistic visualizations, and the candidate’s specific contribution to each.
