Job Purpose To efficiently manage all restaurant billing and cashiering activities, ensure accurate cash and digital transactions, maintain proper financial records, and provide courteous service to guests while following the hotel’s financial and operational procedures.

Key Responsibilities

- Billing & Cashiering
- Prepare accurate bills for food and beverage orders.
- Operate the POS billing system efficiently.
- Collect cash, credit/debit card, UPI, and other approved payments.
- Verify all payments before closing transactions.
- Issue receipts to guests as required.
- Handle discounts, complimentary bills, voids, cancellations, and corrections only with proper authorization.
- Cash Management
- Maintain the assigned cash float at the beginning of the shift.
- Ensure sufficient change is available for transactions.
- Safeguard cash and other payment instruments.
- Conduct cash counting and reconciliation at the end of each shift.
- Deposit or hand over cash according to hotel procedures.
- POS & Sales Records
- Ensure all restaurant orders are properly entered into the POS system.
- Check that bills are generated against the correct table, guest, room, or account.
- Verify restaurant sales, discounts, cancellations, and complimentary transactions.
- Prepare daily cashier reports and submit them to the concerned department.
- Guest Service
- Welcome guests courteously while handling billing.
- Explain bills clearly and professionally when required.
- Resolve minor billing queries promptly.
- Escalate disputed bills or payment issues to the Restaurant Manager.
- Coordination
- Coordinate with waiters, captains, kitchen staff, front office, accounts, and management.
- Verify room-charge transactions with the Front Office where applicable.
- Ensure all restaurant bills are properly accounted for before shift closing.




- Control & Compliance
- Follow hotel policies relating to cash handling and financial controls.
- Maintain confidentiality of guest and financial information.
- Ensure no unauthorized discounts, complimentary items, cancellations, or bill adjustments are processed.
- Report any cash shortage, excess, suspicious transaction, or billing irregularity immediately.
- Shift Closing
- Reconcile POS sales with cash, card, UPI, and other payment collections.
- Prepare the cashier closing report.
- Hand over cash and supporting documents to the authorized person.
- Ensure the cashier counter and related documents are properly maintained.

Required Skills
- Good knowledge of POS and billing systems.
- Basic knowledge of cash handling and accounting.
- Positive communication and guest-service skills.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure during busy restaurant hours.
- Honest, responsible, and trustworthy.
- Good coordination and teamwork.

Qualification
- Minimum 12th Standard; hotel management, commerce, or related qualification preferred.
- Previous experience in a hotel, restaurant, or hospitality cashier role will be an advantage.

Experience 1–3 years of relevant experience preferred, depending on the level of the position.

General Responsibilities The Restaurant Cashier is responsible for maintaining accuracy, honesty, accountability, and professional guest service at all times and must follow all hotel policies, financial procedures, hygiene standards, and instructions issued by management. Pay: ₹12,000.00 - ₹18,000.00 per month
