Company Description 6Gene Biotechnologies is a biotechnology company providing high-quality phosphoramidites and ancillary reagents for oligonucleotide synthesis. The company produces standard DNA & RNA phosphoramidites for therapeutic and diagnostic applications. Its DNA phosphoramidites are widely used to manufacture primers for RT-PCR diagnostic workflows, while RNA phosphoramidites support antisense and RNAi oligonucleotide therapeutics.
Role Description The R&D; Chemist will work full time in office in Ambattur site, focusing on the development and optimization of phosphoramidites and related reagents for oligonucleotide synthesis. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning and conducting laboratory experiments, analyzing data, and documenting results in accordance with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
The role involves scaling and, supporting process improvements, and collaborating with production and quality teams to ensure product consistency. The R&D; Chemist will also contribute to troubleshooting, continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Hands-on experience in Research and Development (R&D;) in chemistry, biotechnology, or related fields.
- Proficiency in laboratory skills such as wet chemistry techniques, handling of reagents, and operation of analytical instruments.
- Strong analytical skills, including data interpretation, problem-solving, and experimental design.
- Experience in quality control practices, including testing protocols, documentation, and adherence to SOPs.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- Familiarity with oligonucleotide synthesis, phosphoramidite chemistry, or pharmaceutical/biotech manufacturing is an advantage.
- Ability to work safely in a laboratory environment and follow EHS guidelines.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
