Location: Kota (Rajasthan) & Aligarh (UP)

Educational Qualification

- B.Sc. / M.Sc. in Chemistry.
- B.Tech. / M.Tech. in Chemical Engineering preferred.
- B.Tech. / B.E. in Civil Engineering candidates with relevant experience in tile adhesive, dry-mix mortar or construction chemicals may also be considered.
- Diploma in Chemical / Civil Engineering may be considered for candidates with strong hands-on experience in tile adhesive or dry-mix products.

Experience

- 3 to 8 years of relevant experience in Quality Control / Quality Assurance.
- Experience in Tile Adhesive, Dry-Mix Mortar, Construction Chemicals preferred.
- Candidates with hands-on experience in laboratory testing and tile adhesive product development are preferred.

Technical Knowledge Candidates should ideally know of:

- Tile adhesive and dry-mix mortar formulations
- Cement, sand, polymers, cellulose ethers and chemical additives
- Raw material and finished product testing
- Tensile bond strength, open time, slip/sag, pot life, workability, water retention, setting characteristics, etc.
- Laboratory equipment operation, calibration and maintenance
- Applicable BIS/IS, EN, ISO and ASTM standards
- Quality documentation, COA and test reports
- Root Cause Analysis and CAPA

Key Responsibilities 1. Raw Material Quality Control

- Inspect and test incoming raw materials such as cement, graded sand, polymers, cellulose ethers, additives, fillers, and other chemicals.
- Verify raw materials against approved specifications and supplier COAs.
- Conduct sampling and testing as per defined sampling plans.
- Maintain records of raw material test results and approval/rejection status.
- Identify variation in raw material quality and immediately communicate deviations to the concerned departments.

2. In-Process Quality Control

- Monitor quality parameters during the manufacturing and blending process.
- Check batch consistency, formulation adherence, moisture content, bulk density, and other relevant parameters.
- Ensure correct dosing of raw materials and additives as per approved formulations.




- Investigate process deviations and coordinate with Production for corrective actions.
- Conduct routine checks of plant and production samples.

3. Finished Product Testing Perform laboratory testing of tile adhesive products as per applicable standards, customer requirements, and internal specifications, including, wherever applicable:

- Open time
- Slip/sag resistance
- Adhesion / tensile bond strength
- Pot life/workability
- Setting characteristics
- Water retention
- Wetting capability
- Coverage/consumption
- Bulk density
- Moisture content
- Compressive/flexural strength, wherever applicable
- Other performance parameters specified for different grades of tile adhesive

4. Product Development & Formulation Support

- Support the R&D; / Technical team in development and optimization of tile adhesive formulations.
- Conduct laboratory trials for new products and formulation modifications.
- Evaluate the impact of different grades and sources of cement, sand, polymers, cellulose ethers, and chemical additives.
- Maintain trial records and prepare comparative test reports.
- Assist in troubleshooting performance-related complaints and formulation issues.

5. Laboratory Management

- Ensure proper functioning, calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
- Maintain testing instruments, moulds, balances, ovens, mixers and other laboratory equipment in good working condition.
- Maintain calibration records and ensure timely calibration of testing equipment.
- Maintain proper housekeeping and safety standards within the laboratory.
- Ensure availability and proper storage of laboratory chemicals and consumables.

6. Quality Documentation & Reporting

- Prepare daily, batch-wise, and periodic quality test reports.
- Maintain records of raw material, in-process, and finished product testing.
- Maintain COA / test certificates for finished products.




- Record and report non-conformities and deviations.
- Maintain quality-related SOPs, formats, specifications and test methods.
- Provide quality data and reports to Production, R&D;, Technical Service and Management as required.

7. Standards & Compliance

- Ensure testing is carried out in accordance with applicable BIS/IS, EN, ISO, ASTM or customer-specific standards, as applicable to the product.
- Keep updated with changes in relevant testing methods and product standards.
- Ensure adherence to approved quality specifications and internal quality systems.
- Support internal, customer, and third-party quality audits.

8. Complaint Investigation & Corrective Action

- Support investigation of customer complaints related to product quality and performance.
- Analyze complaint samples and conduct relevant laboratory tests.
- Identify probable root causes of quality issues.
- Coordinate with Production, R&D;, and Technical Service teams for corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain complaint investigation and CAPA records.

9. Coordination with Other Departments

- Coordinate closely with Production, R&D;, Technical Services, Procurement and Stores for quality-related matters.
- Communicate test results and quality deviations promptly.
- Support Production in maintaining batch-to-batch consistency.
- Provide technical inputs for raw material supplier evaluation and development.

10. Safety & Positive Laboratory Practices

- Follow laboratory safety procedures and chemical handling guidelines.
- Ensure proper use of PPE while handling chemicals, cement, and other materials.
- Maintain MSDS/SDS records for relevant chemicals.
- Ensure safe disposal of laboratory waste.
- Promote good laboratory practices and 5S within the laboratory.
