QUALITY LEAD(CIVIL)

Job Purpose The Quality Lead Civil will be responsible for establishing, implementing and monitoring quality standards across civil and foundation engineering projects. The role will ensure that construction activities,

materials, workmanship and testing comply with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, ITPs,

applicable codes and project quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop, implement and monitor the Project Quality Management Plan (PQMP).
- Establish and maintain quality procedures, inspection plans and quality control systems for civil and foundation works.
- Review approved drawings, specifications, method statements, ITPs and quality requirements before commencement of work.
- Supervise and monitor quality control activities at project sites.
- Ensure compliance with approved Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and quality checklists.
- Inspect construction activities including piling, diaphragm walls, excavation, concreting, reinforcement,

foundations, earthwork and other civil works.
- Ensure that construction materials are tested and approved before use.
- Coordinate with laboratories for required material and construction testing.
- Monitor tests for cement, concrete, aggregates, steel, soil, grout and other construction materials as applicable.
- Review test reports and ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Ensure proper inspection and documentation of reinforcement, shuttering, concreting and embedded items.
- Monitor concrete quality, including slump, temperature, cube sampling and related testing.
- Ensure proper documentation of inspection requests, test reports, checklists and quality records.
- Identify quality deviations and issue/coordinate Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) wherever required.
- Monitor corrective and preventive actions and ensure timely closure of NCRs.




- Conduct internal quality audits and site quality inspections.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, third-party inspectors and project teams on quality-related matters.
- Attend client/consultant inspections and address observations.
- Ensure calibration and validity of measuring and testing equipment.
- Maintain quality documentation and records as per company and project requirements.
- Conduct toolbox talks and quality awareness/training sessions for site teams.
- Investigate recurring quality issues and implement corrective measures.
- Monitor subcontractor quality performance and ensure compliance with approved quality requirements.
- Review subcontractor method statements, quality plans and inspection documents.
- Support project teams in resolving technical and quality-related issues.
- Prepare daily, weekly and monthly quality reports for management.
- Ensure proper maintenance of project quality dossiers and handover documentation.
- Monitor compliance with applicable IS Codes, project specifications, contractual requirements and approved drawings.

Educational Qualification

- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university/institution.
- Diploma in Civil Engineering with substantial relevant experience may also be considered.
- Additional qualification/certification in Quality Management, QA/QC or Construction Management will be an advantage.

Experience

- 8 to 10 years of relevant experience in Civil QA/QC, preferably in infrastructure, foundation engineering,

piling, diaphragm wall, metro, bridges or major construction projects.
- Experience in managing quality teams at project sites.




- Strong experience in client/consultant coordination and quality documentation.

Technical Knowledge

- Strong knowledge of civil construction and foundation engineering quality requirements.
- Knowledge of IS Codes, specifications, drawings and applicable testing standards.
- Good understanding of concrete technology and construction material testing.
- Knowledge of Piling and Diaphragm Wall quality control will be highly preferred.
- Knowledge of ITPs, Method Statements, Inspection Requests, NCRs and Quality Plans.
- Understanding of root-cause analysis and corrective/preventive action systems.
- Knowledge of quality audits and documentation systems.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems will be an advantage.
