- Sample Testing: Analyze raw materials, in-process samples, and finished goods using techniques like HPLC, GC, titration, and spectroscopy. Method Development: Create, validate, and optimize analytical testing methods for new and existing products. Documentation & SOPs: Write clear standard operating procedures (SOPs), record exact test data, and maintain accurate laboratory notebooks. Equipment Calibration: Inspect, clean, calibrate, and perform routine maintenance on lab instruments (such as pH meters, balances, and chromatographs). Compliance & Audits: Ensure laboratory operations follow Valuable Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), and regulatory frameworks like FDA or ISO guidelines. Deviation Management: Investigate out-of-specification (OOS) results, identify root causes, and write corrective and preventative action (CAPA) reports.
