Role Description The Professor of Computer Science will be responsible for delivering high-quality lectures, seminars, and lab sessions to undergraduate and postgraduate learners, with a focus on contemporary computer science domains. Daily activities include designing and updating curricula, supervising student projects and research, mentoring learners, and evaluating academic performance through assignments, examinations, and continuous assessment.
The role involves conducting and publishing research, securing research funding where possible, collaborating with peers on academic initiatives, and contributing to departmental and university committees.
The professor is expected to engage with industry partners, participate in conferences and workshops, and support the development of new academic programs in emerging areas of computer science. This is a full-time, on-site role based at Amity University’s Hyderabad campus.
Qualifications
- Robust academic and practical expertise in core Computer Science domains, with evidence of teaching, research, or industry contributions.
- Proficiency in Programming (e.g., Python, Java, C/C++, or similar languages) and ability to teach software development and related subjects.
- Specialization in advanced areas such as Data Science and/or Cybersecurity , including experience with relevant tools, frameworks, and methodologies.
- Demonstrated experience in Curriculum Development , including designing courses, learning outcomes, and assessment methods aligned with academic and industry standards.
- Doctoral degree (PhD) in Computer Science or a closely related field from a recognized institution.
- Proven record of peer-reviewed research publications, conference presentations, and scholarly activity.
- Experience in supervising student research, guiding projects, and mentoring learners from diverse backgrounds.
- Excellent communication, classroom management, and collaborative skills, with a commitment to inclusive and learner-centered teaching.
- Ability to engage in interdisciplinary work, build industry linkages, and contribute to accreditation, quality assurance, and academic governance.
