We are looking for a Planning Engineer responsible for production planning, scheduling, material coordination, order tracking, and ensuring timely completion of manufacturing activities. The candidate will coordinate closely with Production, Purchase, Stores, Quality, Design/Engineering, and Sales/Project teams to ensure smooth production flow and on-time delivery.

Key Responsibilities

1. Production Planning

- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production plans based on customer orders and delivery schedules.
- Prepare production schedules according to available manpower, machines, materials, and production capacity.
- Monitor production progress against planned schedules and identify delays.
- Coordinate with production teams to achieve planned targets.

2. Order & Project Planning

- Review customer orders, drawings, BOMs, specifications, and delivery requirements.
- Prepare order-wise manufacturing plans and monitor order status from start to completion.
- Track project/job progress and highlight critical activities affecting delivery timelines.
- Ensure priorities are communicated clearly to the concerned departments.

3. Material Planning & Coordination

- Coordinate with Purchase and Stores for timely availability of raw materials, bought-out items, consumables, and components.
- Identify material shortages and prepare material requirement information.
- Monitor material availability against production requirements.
- Follow up on pending purchase orders and critical materials.

4. Production Monitoring

- Track daily production against planned quantities.
- Monitor WIP (Work in Progress) at different manufacturing stages.
- Identify bottlenecks, capacity constraints, and production delays.
- Prepare daily/weekly production status reports for management.

Capacity & Resource Planning

- Monitor machine and manpower capacity.
- Plan production activities based on machine availability and workload.
- Coordinate for subcontracting/job work wherever required.
- Optimize production sequences to reduce idle time and improve utilization.

6. Coordination with Other Departments

- Coordinate with Production, Quality, Purchase, Stores, Design, Engineering, Sales, and Dispatch departments.
- Communicate changes in priority, specifications, and delivery schedules.
- Participate in production and project review meetings.
- Ensure proper follow-up of pending actions.

7. ERP / MIS & Reporting

- Maintain production planning and order tracking data in ERP/MRP systems or Excel.
- Prepare daily and monthly MIS reports.
- Maintain order-wise planning and delivery status.
- Track planned vs. actual production and prepare variance reports.

8. Continuous Improvement

- Identify production planning gaps and suggest improvements.
- Support initiatives related to Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and productivity improvement.
- Work towards reducing production lead time, WIP, machine idle time, and delivery delays.

Required Skills
- Good knowledge of Production Planning & Control (PPC).
- Understanding of manufacturing processes such as fabrication, welding, machining, assembly, and inspection.
- Good knowledge of BOM, routing, production schedules, and material planning.




- Good understanding of Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and basic data analysis.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems will be preferred.
- Strong coordination and follow-up skills.
- Valuable analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to handle multiple orders/projects simultaneously.
- Good communication and documentation skills.

Preferred Technical Knowledge
- Industrial / engineering product manufacturing.
- Sheet metal and fabrication processes.
- Welding and machining processes.
- Pressure vessel / filtration equipment manufacturing knowledge will be an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of engineering drawings and BOM.
- Basic knowledge of ASME standards will be an added advantage for relevant products/projects.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and 5S.

Qualification Education: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

Experience

2–5 years of relevant experience in Production Planning, PPC, Manufacturing Planning, or Project Planning, preferably in an engineering/manufacturing company.

Pay: ₹300,000.00 - ₹550,000.00 per year
