Viraj Institute of Medical Science (VIMS), Patna, invites applications for a full time Principal to lead the whole college, including its paramedical, allied health and physiotherapy programmes.

Location: Chhoti Pahari, Patna, Bihar

Salary: ₹30,000–₹50,000 per month, based on relevant qualifications and experience, within this range.

Work arrangement: Full-time, in person.

Role

Provide hands-on academic and administrative leadership, working with management, department heads, faculty and support staff to improve teaching quality, student outcomes and day-to-day college operations.

Key responsibilities

- Plan and monitor academic calendars, timetables, teaching delivery, attendance, assessments and examinations.
- Supervise and mentor faculty and department heads; coordinate recruitment, induction and performance reviews.
- Oversee practical learning, laboratories and clinical training arrangements in coordination with relevant departments and training partners.
- Coordinate university and regulatory documentation, inspections, records and compliance requirements.
- Manage student discipline, grievances, academic counselling and parent communication professionally.
- Coordinate admissions planning and student support with the admissions team.




- Monitor departmental resource requirements and budgets, and report progress to management.

Qualifications and experience
- A relevant postgraduate degree in physiotherapy, allied health sciences or a related discipline from a recognised institution.
- At least 5 years of relevant college teaching experience, with demonstrated academic administration or department leadership responsibilities.
- Experience as a Principal, Vice-Principal, HOD or academic coordinator is preferred. Senior faculty with substantial administration experience are also encouraged to apply.
- A PhD is preferred.
- Ability to lead multiple departments, maintain academic records and work effectively with faculty, students and management.
- Appointment is subject to applicable university and regulatory eligibility requirements.
