St. John’s Universal School, Goregaon is looking for a passionate and dedicated Primary Teacher for Grade 1 who can create an engaging, supportive, and child-friendly learning environment. The teacher will be responsible for developing robust foundational skills while encouraging curiosity, creativity, confidence, and holistic development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the ICSE curriculum.
- Teach and strengthen foundational concepts in English, Mathematics, Environmental Studies/Science and other assigned subjects.
- Use activity-based, interactive and age-appropriate teaching methods.
- Prepare lesson plans, worksheets, assessments and learning resources.
- Monitor students’ academic progress and provide appropriate support.
- Maintain effective classroom management and discipline.
- Encourage students to participate in classroom activities, projects and co-curricular programmes.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding students’ progress and development.
- Maintain classroom records and complete administrative/academic responsibilities as required.
- Foster a positive, inclusive and nurturing classroom environment.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree with B.Ed./D.El.Ed. or relevant teaching qualification.
- Prior experience teaching Primary/Grade 1 students preferred.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong classroom management and lesson-planning abilities.
- Creative, patient and child-centric approach to teaching.
- Candidates with experience in an ICSE school will be preferred.
