Primary Social Science – Subject Matter Expert (SME)

Job Summary

We are looking for a knowledgeable and creative Primary Social Science Subject Matter Expert (SME) to develop, review, and improve Social Science learning content for primary-grade students. The candidate should have strong subject knowledge, an understanding of the CBSE curriculum, and the ability to make concepts related to society, culture, geography, history, environment, and citizenship engaging and age-appropriate.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and review Social Science content aligned with the CBSE curriculum and learning outcomes.
- Create lesson plans, worksheets, activities, projects, and learning resources for primary students.
- Present concepts in a simple, engaging, and age-appropriate manner.
- Develop competency-based and application-oriented questions.
- Prepare assessments, question banks, worksheets, and practice materials.
- Review and edit textbooks, digital content, worksheets, and other academic resources.
- Incorporate real-life examples, local contexts, stories, maps, visuals, and activities into learning content.
- Design activities that encourage observation, inquiry, critical thinking, and discussion.
- Develop resources covering age-appropriate concepts in history, geography, civics, culture, society, and environmental awareness.
- Ensure factual accuracy and appropriate representation of historical, geographical, and social concepts.
- Identify common learning gaps and develop remedial and enrichment resources.
- Provide subject-matter guidance and academic support to teachers.
- Collaborate with curriculum developers, teachers, editors, illustrators, and academic teams.
- Review content for accuracy, clarity, language, age appropriateness, and consistency.
- Support the development of digital and multimedia-based Social Science learning resources.
- Stay updated with CBSE curriculum developments and contemporary teaching methodologies.

Educational Qualification




- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Social Science, History, Geography, Political Science, Sociology, Education, or a related field.
- B.Ed. or equivalent teacher-training qualification preferred.
- Additional qualifications in curriculum development, educational content creation, or Social Science education will be an advantage.

Experience
- Experience teaching Primary Social Science/EVS in a CBSE school is preferred.
- Experience in curriculum development, textbook/content development, assessment creation, or teacher training will be an added advantage.
- Candidates with strong subject knowledge and relevant teaching experience may also be considered.
