Company Description FUEL (Friends Union for Energising Lives) is a non-profit organization that has supported over one million youth across India for more than 18 years through skill development, STEM education, scholarships, and career counseling. Founded by Ashoka Fellow Ketan Deshpande, FUEL has worked across 18 states, training nearly 300,000 individuals in future skills and counseling over 900,000 students. The organization provides targeted scholarships for BBA and MBA programs to enable deserving students to access quality higher education.
Backed by more than 76 corporate donors, FUEL is now progressing toward establishing FUEL International Skill Tech University to build specialized schools focused on future-ready skills.
Role Description This is a full time, on-site Placement Officer role based in Pune City.
The Placement
Officer will coordinate campus placement activities, build and maintain relationships with corporate partners, and create opportunities for students across FUEL programs.
Responsibilities include organizing placement drives, maintaining placement records, preparing students with interview and resume support, and collaborating with training teams to align skill development with industry requirements. The role also involves providing career counseling, conducting orientation sessions,
and sharing labor market insights to help learners make informed career choices.
The Placement
Officer will work closely with educational institutions, FUEL program teams, and employers to ensure successful placement outcomes.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated skills in campus placement coordination and employer relationship management.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to present, negotiate, and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience or training in career counseling, student guidance, and mentoring.
- Background in training or education-related roles, preferably supporting youth or early-career professionals.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Education, Management, Social Work, Psychology, or similar; postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
- Ability to analyze placement data, track outcomes, and prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Comfort working in a mission-driven environment with a focus on youth development and access to education.
- Proficiency in MS Office or similar tools; ability to use online platforms for student and employer engagement.
- Knowledge of local and national job markets, especially entry-level opportunities for graduates, is beneficial.
