Job Summary:
The Pharmacy In-Charge is responsible for the overall management of pharmacy operations, including medicines, inventory, staff, billing, procurement coordination, documentation, and compliance with applicable pharmacy regulations.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the hospital pharmacy.
- Supervise, guide, and allocate duties to pharmacy staff.
- Ensure medicines are dispensed accurately as per valid prescriptions.
- Maintain adequate stock of medicines, consumables, and pharmacy supplies.
- Monitor stock levels and prepare purchase/reorder requirements.
- Coordinate with the Purchase Department and approved vendors for medicine procurement.
- Check received medicines for quantity, batch number, expiry date, and condition.
- Maintain proper records of inward, outward, returns, and stock adjustments.
- Monitor near-expiry and expired medicines and ensure proper segregation and disposal as per procedure.
- Ensure proper storage of medicines according to manufacturer and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain records for controlled/schedule medicines and other regulated drugs as applicable.
- Monitor pharmacy billing, credit transactions, and daily collections.
- Ensure proper documentation and filing of prescriptions, invoices, stock registers, and related records.
- Coordinate with doctors, nurses, accounts,
purchase, and other departments regarding pharmacy requirements.
- Conduct periodic physical stock verification and investigate discrepancies.
- Implement measures to reduce medicine wastage, pilferage, and stock losses.
- Ensure pharmacy cleanliness, organization, and proper storage practices.
- Support internal and external inspections/audits and maintain required compliance records.
- Handle patient/customer queries and resolve pharmacy-related issues professionally.
- Prepare regular reports on pharmacy stock, purchases, sales, expiry, and other operational activities.
- Ensure staff follow hospital policies, pharmacy procedures, and applicable legal requirements.
- Take overall responsibility for the smooth and effective functioning of the pharmacy.
Preferred Qualification:
- B.Pharm / D.Pharm / M.Pharm as applicable.
- Valid registration with the relevant State Pharmacy Council, where required.
- Minimum 6 years of relevant pharmacy experience, preferably in a hospital setting.
- Good knowledge of pharmacy inventory, billing, procurement, and regulatory documentation.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
