JOB SUMMARY
Metro Mind Hospitals is looking for a responsible, empathetic, and proactive Patient Counsellor to support patients and their families throughout their hospital journey. The candidate should possess excellent communication, decision-making, multitasking, and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to handle patient concerns professionally in a psychiatric hospital setting.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Patient Coordination: Assist patients and their families with appointments, registrations, OP/IP services, and general enquiries.
- Patient Guidance: Explain hospital procedures and service-related information clearly and guide patients to the appropriate psychiatrist, psychologist, social worker, nurse, or pharmacist.
- Appointment Management: Schedule appointments, coordinate with doctors and therapists, and manage follow-ups.
- Patient Follow-up: Contact patients regarding appointments, treatment follow-ups, missed visits, and other service-related requirements.
- Multitasking: Handle calls, patient enquiries, appointment scheduling, documentation, and coordination simultaneously while maintaining accuracy.
- Problem-solving: Identify patient-related issues, take appropriate action, and escalate complex concerns to the concerned department or management.
- Decision-making: Make appropriate routine operational decisions within assigned responsibilities and seek guidance when necessary.
- Complaint Handling: Listen patiently to concerns raised by patients and bystanders, respond professionally, and coordinate timely resolution.
- Interdepartmental Coordination: Coordinate with doctors, psychologists, nurses, pharmacists, receptionists, and other hospital staff to ensure smooth patient care.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate patient records, follow-up details, appointment data, and relevant communication records.
- Admission and Discharge Support: Assist with patient admission, discharge coordination,
billing-related queries, and other administrative formalities.
- Professional Conduct: Maintain patient confidentiality, empathy, skilled boundaries, and a calm approach when handling sensitive situations.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Hospital Administration, Healthcare Management, or a related field.
- Freshers are welcome to apply.
- Prior experience is not mandatory; relevant internships or hospital exposure will be an advantage.
- Candidates must be willing to learn hospital procedures and work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
