Medical Oncologist | KPCIRC – POAS & Oncology Centre Co-Development
KPCIRC (Kwatra Precision Cancer Institute & Research Centre) is an integrated clinic-cum-research institute focused on precision oncology and multidisciplinary cancer care.
Our objective is to build a recent model of oncology practice that brings together Medical Oncology, Precision Medicine, Molecular Diagnostics, Genetic Counselling, Clinical Research, Clinical Trial Access, Patient Navigation and Oncology Operations within a unified care ecosystem.
KPCIRC works at the intersection of clinical medicine, genomics and technology. Through our precision oncology platform OnKommon , we aim to integrate molecular and clinical information to support evidence-based treatment decisions, biomarker-informed therapy selection, clinical-trial identification and longitudinal patient management.
Our model is designed not only for our own clinical centre, but also for hospitals, nursing homes and healthcare institutions that want to establish or expand oncology services through our POAS — Oncology Operations as a Service model.
We are therefore building a network of oncologists who can participate in clinical care, centre development, multidisciplinary decision-making, research and the creation of scalable oncology services.
Role Description
KPCIRC is looking for a Medical Oncologist to join our growing oncology team in New Delhi / Delhi NCR .
The Medical Oncologist will provide comprehensive oncology care, including patient evaluation, diagnosis and staging review, treatment planning, systemic anticancer therapy, toxicity monitoring and longitudinal follow-up.
The role will involve working across conventional oncology and precision oncology workflows, with the opportunity to integrate genomic profiling, molecular biomarkers, clinical trials and individualized treatment strategies into patient care.
Key Clinical Responsibilities
- Conduct outpatient oncology consultations and follow-up visits.
- Evaluate patients with suspected, newly diagnosed, recurrent and advanced cancers.
- Review clinical history, pathology, imaging, laboratory investigations and previous treatment.
- Assess disease stage, treatment intent, performance status, comorbidities and overall treatment goals.
- Develop evidence-based and individualized treatment plans.
- Prescribe and supervise systemic anticancer therapy within appropriate clinical protocols and institutional governance.
- Manage chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, hormonal therapy, biologics and supportive oncology treatments as applicable.
- Monitor patients receiving treatment and identify early signs of treatment-related complications.
- Assess and manage chemotherapy-related toxicities and infusion reactions.
- Recognize and appropriately evaluate immune-related adverse events associated with immunotherapy.
- Coordinate supportive and symptom-directed care throughout treatment.
- Review treatment response and disease progression using appropriate clinical, radiological, pathological and biomarker information.
- Modify treatment plans based on disease response, toxicity, resistance, patient preference and emerging clinical evidence.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary treatment planning with surgical oncology, radiation oncology, pathology, radiology, genetics and other relevant specialties.
- Participate in multidisciplinary tumour boards and complex case reviews.
- Contribute to second-opinion and treatment-planning services where required.
- Support patients through treatment decisions, including discussion of benefits, risks, alternatives, prognosis and expected treatment pathways.
- Maintain accurate and complete clinical documentation and treatment records.
Precision Oncology Responsibilities KPCIRC is particularly interested in oncologists who want to practice beyond conventional treatment pathways and participate in the development of precision oncology-led cancer care .
Depending on experience, the role may involve:
- Interpreting and clinically contextualizing molecular and genomic reports.
- Reviewing tumour biomarkers and actionable alterations.
- Integrating molecular findings with pathology, imaging and clinical history.
- Assessing patients for biomarker-driven treatment options.
- Identifying opportunities for molecular testing and liquid biopsy.
- Supporting interpretation of somatic and germline findings in collaboration with the relevant specialists.
- Participating in Molecular Tumour Boards.
- Reviewing mechanisms of resistance and potential treatment adaptations.
- Supporting longitudinal blood-based monitoring where clinically appropriate.
- Integrating available evidence, guidelines, clinical studies and molecular information into treatment discussions.
- Working with the KPCIRC precision oncology and computational teams to improve clinical decision-support workflows.
The candidate does not need to be an expert computational biologist. However, a solid interest in genomics, biomarkers, precision medicine and technology-enabled oncology will be highly valued. Research is embedded within the KPCIRC care model.
The Medical Oncologist may participate in:
- Identification of suitable clinical-trial opportunities for patients.
- Review of trial eligibility criteria.
- Biomarker-based trial matching.
- Coordination with the KPCIRC clinical-trial and patient-navigation teams.
- Development of clinical research protocols.
- Investigator-initiated research.
- Retrospective and prospective clinical studies.
- Clinical data collection and documentation.
- Case reports, case series, abstracts and scientific publications.
- Participation in academic meetings, journal clubs and tumour boards.
- Development of new oncology care pathways and clinical protocols.
Candidates interested in combining clinical practice with research are particularly encouraged to apply. A key part of KPCIRC's growth strategy is the POAS — Oncology Operations as a Service model.
Through POAS, KPCIRC works with hospitals and healthcare institutions to establish, develop and operate oncology services , including oncology daycare and infusion centres.
We are therefore also open to oncologists who are interested not just in joining an existing centre, but in building one with us .
Depending on the candidate and the institution, opportunities may include:
In-House Oncology Model
Join an existing KPCIRC or partner hospital as the resident/in-house Medical Oncologist and help build the oncology service.
Centre Co-Development
Work with KPCIRC and a hospital/healthcare partner to develop an oncology daycare, infusion centre or broader oncology unit.
Clinical Leadership
Take responsibility for the clinical development and day-to-day functioning of a partner oncology centre.
Consultant / Visiting Model
Work with KPCIRC on a part-time, visiting, sessional or flexible basis.
Hybrid Model
Combine regular clinical practice with tumour boards, precision oncology, research and centre-development responsibilities.
Entrepreneurial / Partnership Model For oncologists interested in creating their own oncology practice, KPCIRC is open to discussing co-development, operational partnership and other mutually agreed structures .
We are intentionally keeping the model flexible because we recognise that different oncologists want different career pathways.
Who Can Apply?
We welcome applications from a broad range of oncology professionals.
Experienced Oncologists
Candidates with established experience in Medical Oncology who want to:
- Develop an oncology centre.
- Expand an existing oncology service.
- Lead a daycare/infusion unit.
- Build a precision-oncology practice.
- Combine clinical care with research and technology.
- Work within a multidisciplinary private-practice environment.
- Develop a long-term clinical leadership role.
Recently Qualified Oncologists Freshly qualified DM/DNB Medical Oncologists are welcome to apply.
We understand that the transition from training to independent clinical practice can be significant. KPCIRC can provide a structured clinical environment with senior oversight, multidisciplinary discussions, standardized workflows and access to a broader oncology network.
Recent graduates may be considered for Associate Medical Oncologist / In-House Medical Oncologist positions depending on their qualifications, experience and credentialing.
