Role Description The Medical Officer will work full time on-site at Dr. Ram's Advanced Surgical Hospital in Ahmedabad, supporting the surgical and clinical team in day-to-day patient care.
Responsibilities include conducting patient assessments, documenting medical histories, assisting in pre-operative and post-operative management, and coordinating care plans with surgeons and other physicians.
The Medical
Officer will monitor patient progress, respond to clinical needs, ensure adherence to hospital protocols, and support the implementation of evidence-based practices. The role also involves participating in clinical discussions, assisting with minor procedures as permitted, guiding nursing staff,
and contributing to patient education regarding treatment and recovery.
The Medical
Officer is expected to maintain accurate medical records, support quality improvement initiatives, and uphold high standards of qualified conduct and ethics.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Medicine with the ability to apply clinical knowledge in a surgical hospital setting.
- Demonstrated Patient Care skills, including assessment, monitoring, and empathetic communication with patients and families.
- Experience or interest in Surgery, particularly in supporting surgeons in pre-operative and post-operative management.
- Ability to collaborate effectively when Working with Physicians and other healthcare professionals as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Capacity to provide Training and guidance to junior staff and nursing teams on clinical protocols and patient safety.
- Recognized medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) with valid registration from the appropriate medical council.
- Prior experience in a surgical or acute care setting is preferred; exposure to anorectal or laser surgery is an advantage.
- Strong clinical documentation skills, attention to detail, and familiarity with hospital information systems.
- Commitment to ethical practice, continuous learning, and adherence to infection control and quality standards.
