The Chaitanyam

Through skill-based healthcare training, community-focused services, and CSR-aligned partnerships—especially in eye care—it has built a human-centric, value-led healthcare ecosystem for treating patients with visual impairment, in the form of Chaitanyam Eye Care Institute in Kale village, Kolhapur. A unique hospital with state-of-the-art facilities, having the latest machinery and equipment, spread over 15000+ square feet, the Chaitanyam Eye Care Institute is witnessing a significant foot-fall of patients from across Kolhapur villages near Kale region, for getting the best treatment of eye care which is completely 'cashless'.
Role Description The Medical Doctor (MBBS Doctor) will provide comprehensive clinical care to patients, including conducting medical examinations, diagnosing conditions, prescribing treatments, and managing follow-up care in an eye care and general healthcare setting. The role involves working closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure ethical, evidence-based, and compassionate care, aligned with the foundation’s human-centered values.
Responsibilities include maintaining accurate medical records, adhering to regulatory and clinical protocols, supporting health education initiatives, and participating in community outreach or CSR-linked health programs as needed.
The Medical
Doctor will also contribute to continuous quality improvement,
mentor junior staff or trainees when required, and help strengthen patient-centered practices. This is a part-time role (3 days a week), on-site role based in Kale Village, Kolhapur
Qualifications
- Recognized medical degree (MBBS) from an accredited institution; postgraduate qualification (e.g., MD/MS, DNB, or specialised training in ophthalmology or internal medicine) would be an added advantage, but not necessarily mandatory.
- Valid medical registration/license with the appropriate medical council, and compliance with all relevant clinical and ethical guidelines.
- Clinical expertise in patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and management; experience in eye care or related specialities is an advantage.
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams in a compassionate, culturally sensitive manner.
- Ability to maintain detailed, accurate medical documentation and use electronic health records or digital health systems efficiently.
- Commitment to ethical medical practice, health equity, and value-based care, with openness to working in community-focused and CSR-aligned healthcare programs.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a structured, on-site clinical environment, manage time effectively, and handle varying patient loads.
- Interest in teaching, mentoring, or supporting skill development initiatives for caregivers and healthcare trainees is beneficial.
