Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Mechatronics Engineer role based in Chennai.
The Mechatronics
Engineer will design, develop, and maintain electromechanical systems that support UrbanRoof’s repair and rehabilitation solutions, including automation and control setups for equipment and diagnostic tools. Day-to-day responsibilities include integrating mechanical, electrical, and electronic components; troubleshooting system issues; performing preventive and corrective maintenance; and ensuring optimal performance of machinery used at project sites. The role involves collaborating with project, operations, and site teams to customize systems for specific building conditions, documenting technical work, and adhering to safety and quality standards.
The engineer will also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, evaluate recent technologies, and support training for technical staff on equipment usage and maintenance.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Mechatronics, with the ability to integrate mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
- Proficiency in Electrical Engineering and Electromechanics for designing, wiring, and maintaining power and control circuits.
- Hands-on experience with Electronics, including sensors, actuators, PLCs, and basic embedded control systems.
- Demonstrated skills in Maintenance & Repair of electromechanical equipment and automation systems used in construction or industrial environments.
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals.
- Knowledge of safety standards and best practices for on-site engineering work in construction or industrial settings.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the capacity to work independently and within cross-functional teams.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation and coordination with site and project stakeholders.
- Prior experience in building services, construction equipment, or industrial automation is an advantage.
