Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and hands-on ITI Fitter to join our mechanical engineering and assembly team. This role focuses on the mechanical assembly, fitting, fabrication, calibration, and maintenance of the structural and mechanical subsystems used in our agricultural robots.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assemble, fit, and align mechanical components including gears, shafts, bearings, couplings, linkages, brackets, and chassis structures for robotic platforms
- Perform precision machining operations (turning, milling, drilling, tapping, grinding, and filing) as per technical drawings and specifications
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, assembly diagrams, and bill of materials (BOMs)
- Fabricate and modify metal components using hand tools, power tools, and machine tools (lathe, milling machine, drilling machine, grinder)
- Fit and mount motors, actuators, wheels, tracks, hydraulic/pneumatic fittings, and structural frames onto the robot platform
- Conduct mechanical calibration, alignment checks, and functional testing of assembled subsystems




- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of workshop equipment, tools, and robot mechanical assemblies
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical failures (loose fits, misalignment, wear, vibration, etc.) and execute repairs
- Support field deployment by preparing, pre-testing, and packing mechanical units before installation
- Collaborate with design and electrical engineers to provide feedback on mechanical tolerances, manufacturability, and assembly feasibility
- Maintain accurate assembly logs, maintenance records, and tool inventory documentation
- Ensure compliance with workshop safety standards, PPE guidelines, and best practices in mechanical assembly
- Clean, lubricate, and store components and tools properly to maintain workshop organization

Requirements:

- ITI certificate in Fitter, Mechanical, Turner, Welder, Machinist, or a related trade.
- 0–2 years of experience in mechanical fitting, fabrication, assembly, automotive, manufacturing, or production environments. Freshers with strong practical knowledge may also apply.
- Basic understanding of mechanical components such as bearings, shafts, nuts, bolts, couplings, gears, and fasteners
