Reporting To: Production Manager / Project Head

Job Purpose To carry out machining, fitting, fabrication, assembly, and finishing activities as per engineering drawings, specifications, quality standards, and production schedules.

Key Responsibilities – Turner

- Operate conventional lathe machines for turning, facing, drilling, boring, threading, and related machining operations.
- Read and understand engineering drawings, dimensions, tolerances, and specifications.
- Perform shaft, bush, thread, flange, and other component machining.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and machining methods.
- Check dimensions using vernier caliper, micrometer, bore gauge, and other measuring instruments.
- Maintain required dimensional accuracy and surface finish.
- Identify machining defects and carry out necessary corrections.
- Maintain machines, tools, and work area in proper condition.
- Follow production schedules and complete jobs within specified timelines.
- Follow all safety and quality procedures.

Key Responsibilities – Fitter
- Read and understand mechanical drawings and assembly drawings.
- Perform fitting, drilling, cutting, grinding, tapping, threading, and assembly activities.
- Carry out machine/component assembly according to drawings and specifications.
- Perform alignment, leveling,



and adjustment of mechanical components.
- Use hand tools, power tools, drilling machines, grinders, and other workshop equipment safely.
- Carry out fabrication support and structural/mechanical fitting work.
- Check dimensions, clearances, alignment, and finished components.
- Support installation, modification, maintenance, and project execution activities.
- Identify defects during assembly and coordinate with the Production/Project team for rectification.
- Maintain tools, equipment, housekeeping, and workplace safety.

Required Skills
- Good knowledge of mechanical components and workshop practices.
- Ability to read engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of measuring instruments such as Vernier, Micrometer, and Height Gauge.
- Knowledge of basic machining, fitting, fabrication, and assembly.
- Good understanding of dimensions, tolerances, and basic GD&T.;
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
- Positive discipline, attendance, and safety awareness.

Qualification & Experience Qualification: ITI – Turner / Fitter or equivalent technical qualification.

Experience: 1–5 years in mechanical manufacturing, fabrication, machining, equipment, instrumentation, or engineering industry. Fresh ITI candidates with practical workshop knowledge may also be considered.
