We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer who has strong hands-on expertise in machine design, fabrication design, 3D modeling, and detailed manufacturing drawings and can convert engineering concepts into practical, manufacturable industrial equipment.

Role: Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: Raipur, Chhattisgarh

Role Description The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for the design and development of industrial machinery, process equipment, and mechanical systems used in metallurgical and resource-recovery applications.

The ideal candidate should be capable of taking a concept from initial design → 3D model → engineering calculations → fabrication drawings → BOM → fabrication support → installation and commissioning .

The role requires strong practical knowledge of machine design and fabrication, along with the ability to work closely with fabrication, production, maintenance, and R&D; teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and develop industrial machines, mechanical equipment, and assemblies .
- Prepare detailed 3D models, GA drawings, assembly drawings, fabrication drawings, and manufacturing drawings .
- Develop BOMs, material specifications, part specifications, and fabrication details .
- Perform basic mechanical design calculations for shafts, structures, plates, fasteners, bearings, couplings, drives, etc.
- Select and size components such as bearings, shafts, gearboxes, motors, couplings,



chains, sprockets, pulleys, and other mechanical elements .
- Design equipment considering manufacturing, fabrication, assembly, maintenance, safety, and operating conditions .
- Coordinate directly with fabrication and production teams to ensure drawings are practical and manufacturable.
- Review fabrication progress and resolve design-related issues during manufacturing.
- Support installation, commissioning, modification, and troubleshooting of machinery at site.
- Modify and optimize existing equipment to improve performance, reliability, productivity, and ease of maintenance .
- Prepare and maintain proper engineering documentation and drawing revisions.
- Work with R&D; and process teams to convert new concepts into functional industrial equipment.

- 2D Engineering & Fabrication Drawings
- GA and Assembly Drawings
- Manufacturing Drawings with proper dimensions, tolerances, fits, sections and details
- BOM preparation and material selection
- Practical knowledge of fabrication and manufacturing processes
- Engineering drawing interpretation

Mechanical Component Knowledge The candidate should have practical knowledge of:
- Shafts and couplings
- Bearings and bearing housings
- Gearboxes and gear drives
- Motors and mechanical drives
- Chains, sprockets and pulleys
- Rollers and conveyors
- Fasteners and welded structures
- Plates, sections and structural members




- Hydraulic/pneumatic mechanical arrangements
- Machine frames and fabricated assemblies

Software Skills
- SolidWorks – preferred
- AutoCAD
- Creo / other 3D CAD software

Strong proficiency in at least one skilled 3D CAD platform is required.

What We Are Looking For We are looking for someone who is not limited to drafting , but can understand how a machine actually works and can design it accordingly.

The candidate should be able to:

Understand the requirement → develop the concept → design the machine → create the 3D model → prepare fabrication drawings → coordinate fabrication → support installation and improve the machine.

Strong practical understanding of machine design and fabrication will be given more importance than purely theoretical knowledge.

Qualifications

- B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Relevant experience in machine design and fabrication design .
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as with production, fabrication, maintenance and R&D; teams.
- Good communication and technical documentation skills.

Experience Experience: 2–5 years preferred

Candidates with strong practical machine-design skills and relevant experience may also be considered irrespective of the exact industry background.
