Mechanical Design Engineer turns ideas and product requirements into real, manufactured mechanical systems using physics and computer tools.
Core Responsibilities :-
CAD Modeling: Create detailed 3D models and 2D technical blueprints using software like SolidWorks, Creo, or AutoCAD.
Prototyping & Testing: Build physical or virtual prototypes using FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and computer simulations to test for strength and performance.
Material & Tolerance Selection: Choose the right materials and apply GD&T; (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) to make sure parts fit and function correctly.
Design for Manufacturability (DFM): Ensure designs can be built easily and affordably by working closely with manufacturing teams and suppliers.
Documentation: Write technical reports, assembly instructions, and change orders (ECNs).
Key
Requirements & Qualifications :-
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
Software Skills: Strong proficiency in 3D CAD platforms (SolidWorks, Creo, or CATIA) and analysis tools (FEA/CFD).
Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of manufacturing processes (machining, molding, casting), material properties, and mechanical principles.
Soft Skills: Positive problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and communication skills to work with cross-functional teams.
