Purpose of the role:

The Medical Education Manager builds and runs Biotek’s surgeon education programme as a standalone function. The role owns every point where a surgeon learns to use a Biotek product: hands-on workshops, cadaver and dry-lab training, fellowships, faculty relationships and the expert Insights masterclass series. The aim is a surgeon community that trusts Biotek products because they have been properly trained on them.

Key responsibilities:

Education strategy and programme :

- Build the annual medical education plan by product range and market, linked to the sales and launch priorities
- Design the training pathway for each product from first exposure to independent use
- Run the expert Insights masterclasses, Arthroplasty Summit and other flagship programmes at HQ

Faculty and key opinion leaders :

- Identify, recruit and manage a faculty of surgeon educators in India and key international markets
- Own the relationship with faculty, including agreements, honoraria and compliance with the UCMPMD code and equivalent rules in each market
- Develop proctorship and mentoring programmes so new users are supported in their first cases

Training facilities and content :

- Run the DAISY Design Lab and Biotek Experience Centre as training venues, including scheduling, equipment, models and lab operations.
- Build a library of surgical technique guides, videos, case studies and e-learning modules.
- Set up online learning so surgeons and distributor teams can be trained remotely.





Distributor and international support :

- Deliver train-the-trainer programmes so distribution partners can run local education
- Support international market launches with surgeon training and clinical specialist cover
- Coordinate with the Thailand, Indonesia and other market teams on local education plans

Compliance and measurement :

- Make sure every programme meets medical education compliance rules, with clear separation from sales promotion
- Track surgeons trained, product adoption after training and faculty engagement, and report monthly

Team and budget :

- Lead the medical education and clinical specialist team with clear objectives and accountability
- Own the medical education budget across India and international

Qualification & Experience:

- 5+ years in medical devices with at least 2 in medical education, clinical or professional education roles
- Orthopedic, arthroscopy or sports medicine background essential; theatre and cadaver lab experience expected
- Has built surgeon education programmes and faculty networks, ideally across more than one country
- Understands medical education compliance codes (UCMPMD, AdvaMed, MedTech Europe or similar)
- Credible with senior surgeons and able to build long-term relationships
- Robust organizer who can run complex programmes end to end
- Clinical qualification (physiotherapy, nursing, biomedical or medical science) or product specialist background preferred
