Role Overview This senior role will lead partnerships, resource mobilisation and strategy for the India programme. The postholder will strengthen existing relationships, open new funding and collaboration avenues, and help keep the country portfolio focused on measurable, scalable results.

Location

Gurugram, India. Some domestic travel to meet partners and attend sector events.

Key Responsibilities Partnerships Grow and strengthen relationships with priority stakeholders in India, and identify new partners who can advance the organisation's goals. Engage central and state government, power utilities, multilateral agencies, development finance institutions, foundations and corporates. Explore new forms of collaboration across climate finance, clean technology, policy, advocacy and market building.

Coordinate with internal teams so partner engagement stays consistent and well managed. Represent the organisation at conferences, roundtables and senior meetings, and support leadership in key external engagements. Work with public and private partners on policy and ecosystem enablers that unlock clean energy investment.

Strategy

Help the Country Head and leadership team shape and periodically refresh the India strategy. Spot new programme opportunities and test them for strategic fit, scalability and system-level impact. Assess major programme and partnership proposals and make recommendations to senior management.

Combine evidence, partner input and delivery learnings to keep the strategy responsive to market shifts. Write crisp strategy notes, decks and recommendations for senior leadership and board discussions. Resource mobilisation Build and manage a funding pipeline for the India programme, in step with global fundraising colleagues.

Cultivate relationships with bilateral and philanthropic donors, DFIs, corporates and other funders. Identify grants, co-funding, joint initiatives, blended finance and other routes to bring in new resources.

Lead funding proposals aligned with country priorities, working with programme, communications and leadership teams.

Impact and learning Partner with programme teams to keep the portfolio focused on outcomes, scale and lasting change. Help define success measures and indicators for key programmes, and use them to track progress and course-correct. Support portfolio reviews and learning sessions so delivery lessons inform future choices.

Find proven approaches that government, utilities, investors or others could scale or replicate. Turn programme results into insights and thought leadership for funders, policymakers and the wider sector.

Developing others: Supports colleagues' growth alongside organisational goals.

Experience in climate finance, renewable energy, energy transition or sustainable development. Track record on energy or infrastructure projects at both state and national level.
