what are we looking for?
Are you a walking, talking encyclopedia when it comes to the latest in tech? Do the terms Cloud, DevOps, Big Data, AI and ML get you genuinely excited? As a Manager – Cloud Engineering, you'd be our go-to person for designing, deploying, and managing Cloud infrastructure for clients across the globe — with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) as your primary weapon of choice.
You'd create and govern container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker), drive full automation, ensure uptime and security of all cloud systems, and ensure clients are always leveraging best-in-class techniques and tools.
If you love solving complex business challenges, Searce is the perfect place for you. We have a thriving, high-energy office environment that steers clear of rigid corporate culture — focused on productivity, creativity, and being part of a world-class team while still being yourself.
Job Responsibilities
This role is responsible for consulting with clients and proposing architectural solutions to move and improve infrastructure from on-premise to cloud, or to optimise cloud spend across platforms — with GCP as the primary focus.
- Be the first to experiment on recent-age GCP offerings; define best practices as a thought leader for cloud, automation, and
DevOps across the organisation.
- Continually augment skills and stay current with technology evolution as client needs change.
- Leverage deep GCP expertise (primary) and working knowledge of AWS / Azure to build hybrid and multi-cloud solutions for customers.
- Provide leadership to project teams and facilitate the definition of deliverables around core cloud-based technology and methods.
- Define tracking mechanisms; ensure IT standards and methodology are met and quality results are delivered.
- Participate in technical reviews of requirements, designs, code, and other project artefacts.
- Identify and stay abreast of new technical concepts in Google Cloud Platform — services, pricing, architecture patterns, and partner ecosystem.
- Security, Risk & Compliance — advise customers on best practices around IAM, access management, network setup, and regulatory compliance (PCI DSS, ISO 27001).
- Passionate, persuasive, and articulate cloud professional capable of quickly establishing credibility with client stakeholders.
- Strong business judgment, open communication style, and willingness to work across customers, internal teams, and partners.
- Highly organised, data-driven, and committed to quality delivery.
- Confident in leading by example and inspiring a high-quality engineering standard.
Qualification
- 8+ years of overall experience with at least 5–7 years of hands-on Cloud Computing experience (GCP mandatory; AWS or Azure as secondary).
- Deep, demonstrable GCP expertise — GKE, Cloud Run, BigQuery, Vertex AI, VPC, Cloud Interconnect, Cloud Build, IAM, and related services.
- GCP Professional Cloud Architect certification strongly preferred; equivalent depth through project experience considered.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering from a reputed institute — or evidence of deep self-driven technical mastery.
Passion to learn outlives the degree.
- Knowledge of programming against cloud platforms, Terraform / IaC, CI/CD pipelines, and lean development methodologies.
- Good analytical, communication, problem-solving, and learning skills.
Preferred Certifications:
- Google Professional Cloud Architect
