Role & responsibilities

Job Summary The Landscape and Nursery Manager will oversee the planning, execution, and continuous maintenance of all green zones, lawns, corporate gardens, and extensive green belt initiatives within and surrounding the Iron & Steel Factory premises.

Operating in an industrial setting requires balancing ecological preservation with factory emission compliance. This role involves managing the in-house plant nursery to supply resilient, pollution-mitigating vegetation, supervising horticulture teams, and ensuring compliance with national environmental, pollution control board (PCB), and statutory green belt regulations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Green Belt & Industrial Landscaping Management

- Design and maintain industrial green belts and ecological zones to act as natural dust, sound, and carbon sinks around production areas.
- Plan and supervise massive tree plantation drives inside the factory campus and in community peripheral zones.
- Modernize factory grounds by introducing sustainable landscaping, lawns, and gardens around corporate building segments.

2. In-House Nursery Operations

- Manage the factory's dedicated plant nursery to guarantee a steady, cost-effective inventory of healthy trees, shrubs, and ground cover.
- Oversee plant propagation, sapling development,



and cultivation techniques suited for industrial and high-temperature environments.
- Maintain careful logs of plant inventory, seed sourcing, survival rates, and plant health data.

3. Agronomy, Plant Health & Irrigation

- Diagnose plant diseases and design effective pest and weed control procedures.
- Test and monitor soil health regularly, applying appropriate fertilizers, organic matter, and treatments to counter chemical/industrial runoff.
- Supervise advanced, water-productive irrigation networks (e.g., drip irrigation, recycled water systems) tailored to heavy industrial settings.

4. Statutory Compliance & Industrial Safety

- Ensure the plants green spaces strictly comply with regional pollution control board norms and environmental regulations.
- Enforce strict industrial safety guidelines and ensure all horticulture personnel utilize appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while working near factory lines.

Preferred candidate profile

- Industrial Expertise: Deep technical knowledge of pollution-tolerant plant species, heavy dust-mitigation flora, and soil rehabilitation techniques.
- Equipment Proficiency: Hands-on experience supervising the safe operation of commercial lawn mowers, tractors, soil aerators, and automated industrial irrigation layouts.
