About the Role

VGS Industries is looking for a Lab Assistant to support routine quality and laboratory testing of raw materials, process samples and finished products. The role is suitable for a science graduate who is disciplined with testing procedures, documentation and laboratory records.

Key Responsibilities

· Collect and identify raw-material, process and finished-product samples as per defined procedures.

· Conduct routine physical and quality tests as per approved specifications and SOPs.

· Check applicable parameters such as GSM/weight, moisture, thickness, dimensions, pH, viscosity and other defined test parameters.

· Support testing of paper/cellulose materials, resin/adhesive/chemicals and finished honeycomb cooling-pad products.

· Prepare test samples and assist the Quality Engineer in detailed testing.

· Record observations accurately and immediately report abnormal results or deviations.

· Maintain test reports, laboratory registers, sample records and calibration records.

· Maintain laboratory equipment, consumables, chemicals, glassware, identification and housekeeping.

· Follow PPE, laboratory safety procedures and work instructions.

Required Qualification & Experience

Qualification: B.Sc.



Chemistry preferred; Industrial Chemistry or equivalent science qualification may be considered

Experience: 0-2 years

Must-have Skills

· B.Sc. Chemistry preferred.

· 0-2 years of laboratory/quality experience; suitable freshers with valuable fundamentals may apply.

· Basic computer knowledge including MS Excel and Word.

· Ability to follow SOPs and maintain accurate test records.

· Careful, disciplined and quality-oriented working style.

Preferred / Added Advantage

· Exposure to a manufacturing quality laboratory.

· Familiarity with pH, viscosity, moisture, GSM or dimensional testing.
