About the Role
We are looking for a Junior Product Designer who can help convert product concepts into well-executed, production-ready designs.
This is a highly hands-on role. The designer will work closely with the Product Design/NPD team to develop 2D design files, 3D models, prototypes, product graphics, design documentation and production assets for toys, games and children's products.
The ideal candidate is comfortable moving quickly from concept → design → prototype → refinement → production
, and can coordinate with internal teams and vendors to keep product development moving.
The role is particularly suited to someone who enjoys making things, understands basic product design principles, and is fluent in both 2D and 3D design software
.
Key Responsibilities 1. Product Design & Execution
- Develop product designs based on approved concepts, briefs and design directions.
- Convert rough ideas, sketches and references into explicit and executable designs.
- Create detailed 2D drawings, layouts, graphics and product artwork .
- Develop 3D models, assemblies and basic product forms .
- Prepare design files suitable for prototyping, sampling and manufacturing.
- Modify and refine existing products, moulds, components and designs.
- Maintain accuracy in dimensions, proportions, components and specifications.
2. 2D & 3D Design
- Create production-ready 2D artwork and technical design files.
- Develop 3D product models and basic assemblies.
- Make design variations quickly based on feedback.
- Prepare files in appropriate formats for vendors, manufacturers and internal teams.
- Create basic renders/presentation visuals when required.
- Organise and maintain design files systematically.
3. Prototyping & Product Development
- Create quick physical prototypes/mock-ups to test product ideas.
- Work with readily available materials and components for early-stage prototyping.
- Identify basic design and usability issues during prototyping.
- Iterate designs based on prototype testing and feedback.
- Coordinate with manufacturers, sampling teams and vendors to execute prototypes.
- Support sample evaluation and incorporate required changes.

Product
Research
- Conduct basic market and competitor research.
- Study existing toys, games, products, mechanisms, materials and construction methods.
- Identify relevant design references and emerging product trends.
- Research age-appropriate play patterns, usability and product features.
- Translate research findings into practical design inputs.
5. Cross-functional Collaboration
Work closely with

The designer should be able to communicate design intent clearly and follow up with relevant teams to ensure execution matches the approved design. 6.
Product Launch
Support
- Prepare final design assets required for product development and launch.
- Support packaging and product graphic development where required.
- Provide accurate product dimensions, component details and design references.
- Track design changes through different stages of development.
- Help resolve design-related issues during sampling and production.
- Ensure final files are organised and available for launch.
Required Skills Design Software — Must Have Strong working knowledge of 2D and 3D design software

2D:
- Adobe Illustrator
- Adobe Photoshop
- InDesign or equivalent
3D:
- SolidWorks / Fusion 360 / Rhino / Blender / KeyShot or equivalent
The candidate does not necessarily need to know every software listed, but should be robust in at least one professional 2D workflow and one professional 3D workflow , and be comfortable learning new tools.
Product Design Skills
- Basic understanding of product design and development.
- Understanding of form, proportion, scale and usability.
- Basic knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes.
- Understanding of how products move from concept to prototype to production.
- Ability to create design variations quickly.
- Basic understanding of tolerances, dimensions and component fit is preferred.
- Understanding of children's products/toys is an advantage.
Execution Skills
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work from incomplete information and ask the right questions.
- Ability to take feedback and make revisions quickly.
- Good file organisation and version control.
- Ability to manage multiple products/tasks simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's/Diploma in Product Design, Industrial Design, Toy Design, Engineering Design, 3D Design or a related field.
- 1–3 years of relevant professional experience.
- Portfolio demonstrating actual product development work .
- Experience with toys, games, children's products, consumer products, lifestyle products or physical products is preferred.
- Experience working with manufacturers/vendors is an advantage.
