Role Description The Junior Architect role at Grid Studio is a full-time, on-site position based in Vellore.

The Junior

Architect will support senior designers in developing architectural concepts, preparing drawings, and producing detailed plans for both architecture and interiors. Daily responsibilities include creating 2D and 3D design documentation, coordinating with consultants, assisting in site visits and measurements, and preparing presentations for client reviews. The role also involves tracking design changes, helping with basic project coordination, and ensuring that design standards and local regulations are followed.

Architect will work closely with the project team to maintain deadlines, contribute ideas during design discussions, and support smooth execution from design through implementation.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in Architecture and Architectural Design, with the ability to translate concepts into explicit plans and drawings.
- Basic understanding of Software Development and Integration as they relate to design tools, BIM workflows, or digital modeling environments.
- Knowledge of Project Management principles, including task prioritization, schedule awareness, and coordination with project stakeholders.
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, or similar tools, and familiarity with visualization tools (e.g., Photoshop, Lumion).
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or an equivalent professional qualification, with eligibility to work in India.
- Attention to detail, strong spatial and design sense, and ability to follow design guidelines and building codes.
- Effective communication skills, willingness to learn, and ability to collaborate in a studio environment and on active sites.
- Prior internship or junior-level experience in architectural or interior design practice is an advantage.
