Role Description The Insurance Verification Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Gurugram. This role is responsible for verifying patients’ insurance coverage, confirming benefits, and ensuring eligibility prior to appointments or procedures.
Day-to-day tasks include contacting insurance carriers, reviewing policy details, documenting verification outcomes, and coordinating with clinical and billing teams to resolve discrepancies. The specialist will process and track prior authorizations, update patient records in internal systems, and respond to inquiries from patients and providers in a clear, professional manner.
The role also involves maintaining compliance with payer guidelines, meeting productivity and accuracy targets, and contributing to continuous improvement of verification workflows.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Insurance Verification skills, including eligibility checks, benefits confirmation, and coverage validation.
- Candidates should possess knowledge of Medical Terminology and basic understanding of healthcare procedures and billing concepts.
- Candidates should possess effective Communication and Customer Service skills to interact with patients, insurers, and internal teams professionally.
- Candidates should possess experience with Prior Authorization processes, including submission, follow-up, and documentation.
- Ability to work in office in Gurugram, with strong attention to detail, time management, and organization.
- Comfort using healthcare or billing software, spreadsheets, and electronic documentation tools.
- Previous experience in health insurance, medical billing, revenue cycle, or a related healthcare administrative role is preferred.
- Relevant diploma or bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, or a related field is beneficial.
