Reports To: Housekeeping Manager / Admin Manager / HR Department

Location: Hospital

Employment Type: Full-Time

1. Job Purpose

To supervise and coordinate the housekeeping team and ensure high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, sanitation, infection-control practices, and overall housekeeping services throughout the hospital.
1. Key Responsibilities

- Supervise and monitor housekeeping staff and their daily activities.
- Prepare and allocate daily duty schedules and work assignments.
- Ensure cleanliness of patient rooms, wards, OP areas, corridors, staircases, lifts, waiting areas, toilets, offices, and other hospital areas.
- Ensure proper cleaning and disinfection of critical areas as per hospital protocols.
- Monitor housekeeping staff attendance, punctuality, grooming, and discipline.
- Conduct regular rounds to inspect cleanliness and hygiene standards.
- Ensure proper usage of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and housekeeping materials.
- Maintain adequate stock of cleaning materials and report shortages to the concerned department.
- Ensure proper segregation and disposal of waste as per hospital waste-management procedures.
- Coordinate with Nursing, Infection Control, Administration, Security, and other departments whenever required.
- Attend to housekeeping-related complaints and take immediate corrective action.
- Train housekeeping staff on cleaning procedures, infection control, safety, PPE usage, and proper handling of chemicals.
- Ensure housekeeping staff follow hospital rules, SOPs, and safety procedures.
- Maintain housekeeping checklists, inspection records, cleaning schedules, and other required documentation.
- Monitor deep-cleaning activities and ensure timely completion.
- Report maintenance issues such as plumbing, electrical, leakage, damaged furniture, or other facility-related problems to the concerned department.




- Ensure proper handling and maintenance of housekeeping equipment.
- Monitor staff performance and provide feedback to management.
- Coordinate housekeeping requirements during special events, VIP visits, audits, emergencies, and hospital functions.
- Ensure proper cleaning of isolation areas and other sensitive areas as instructed.
- Perform any other housekeeping-related duties assigned by the Management.

1. Required Skills

- Good supervisory and leadership skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of hospital housekeeping and sanitation procedures.
- Basic knowledge of infection-control practices.
- Ability to manage and motivate housekeeping staff.
- Good observation and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to maintain records and prepare basic reports.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle emergency situations.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and housekeeping equipment.

1. Qualification & Experience

Qualification:

- Minimum 10th / 12th / Diploma or equivalent.
- Housekeeping or facility-management certification will be an added advantage.

Experience:

- Minimum 2–5 years of experience in hospital housekeeping or healthcare facility housekeeping.
- Experience in supervising housekeeping staff is preferred.

- Cleanliness and hygiene standards maintained across the hospital.
- Timely completion of housekeeping duties.
- Staff attendance and discipline.
- Patient/staff complaint resolution.
- Proper use and control of housekeeping materials.
- Compliance with infection-control and safety procedures.
- Proper maintenance of housekeeping records and checklists.
- Staff productivity and performance.

1. Working Conditions

- Full-time hospital-based role.
- Willingness to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays when required.
- Must be able to conduct regular rounds throughout the hospital.
- Must follow all hospital safety, hygiene, infection-control, and disciplinary policies.

Pay: From ₹23,000.00 per month
