Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced HR professional to manage and lead the end-to-end HR function at the plant level. The role will be responsible for workforce management, employee relations, industrial relations, HR compliance, talent management, employee engagement, performance management, and overall people-related initiatives at the plant. The incumbent will work closely with plant leadership and corporate HR to ensure effective implementation of HR policies and practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end Plant HR activities and act as the primary HR partner for plant leadership and employees.
- Drive manpower planning, workforce deployment, recruitment, onboarding, transfers, promotions, and employee movements in line with plant requirements.
- Manage employee relations and industrial relations, including grievance handling, disciplinary matters, conflict resolution, and maintaining a positive work environment.
- Handle contract labour management, including manpower requirements, vendor coordination, documentation, attendance, and compliance.
- Ensure compliance with applicable labour laws, statutory requirements, HR policies, and company procedures.
- Manage performance management, appraisal, promotion, increment, and employee development processes for plant employees.
- Drive employee engagement, retention, welfare, communication, and employee-connect initiatives at the plant.
- Identify training and development requirements and coordinate L&D;, skill development, and competency-building programs.
- Partner with plant leadership and functional heads on manpower planning, organizational structure, workforce productivity, and people-related matters.
- Manage HR-related MIS, dashboards, analytics,
attendance, absenteeism, attrition, manpower cost, and other HR metrics.
- Handle disciplinary proceedings, domestic enquiries, show-cause notices, settlements, and other employee-related matters in coordination with the appropriate stakeholders.
- Manage relationships with contractors, labour representatives, employee representatives, and external statutory authorities as applicable.
- Conduct periodic HR audits and compliance reviews and ensure timely closure of identified gaps.
- Implement corporate HR policies and initiatives effectively at the plant level and provide feedback for process improvement.
- Support organizational development, change management, succession planning, and talent development initiatives.
- Lead, guide, and develop the plant HR team and ensure effective delivery of HR services.
- Serve as a strategic HR partner to plant leadership while ensuring a strong employee-centric culture.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong expertise in Plant HR / Factory HR / Industrial Relations.
- Positive knowledge of labour laws, statutory compliance, and contract labour management.
- Strong experience in employee relations, grievance handling, disciplinary proceedings, and conflict resolution.
- Experience in managing large-scale blue-collar / workmen and staff populations.
- Strong manpower planning and workforce management skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive employee and IR matters independently.
- Strong HR analytics, reporting, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to work closely with Plant Head, functional heads, corporate HR, and senior management.
Qualification MBA / PGDM / Industrial Relations or equivalent qualification.
Experience
15–25 years of relevant experience in Plant HR, preferably in the Pharmaceutical or Manufacturing industry, with substantial experience in independently managing plant-level HR functions and leading HR teams.
