Job Summary:

We are seeking a Head – IT Infrastructure & Operations to provide strategic leadership and centralized management of technology infrastructure, systems, cybersecurity, digital platforms, and IT operations across PSG Institutions. The role will be responsible for developing and implementing institution-wide IT strategies, ensuring secure and reliable technology operations, driving digital transformation, and establishing effective IT governance, standards, and support services.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead and oversee Central IT operations across all PSG Institutions, campuses, departments, and facilities.
- Develop and implement standardized IT infrastructure architecture, technology standards, policies, and operating procedures.
- Plan, manage, and optimize enterprise IT infrastructure, including data centres, servers, storage, networks, Internet, Wi-Fi, firewalls, cloud/hybrid environments, end-user devices, peripherals, CCTV, and related systems.
- Ensure high availability, reliability, scalability, performance, security, and maintainability of critical IT infrastructure.
- Drive infrastructure lifecycle management, capacity planning, technology refresh, modernization, virtualization, consolidation, cloud migration, and system upgrades.
- Manage data centres and server rooms, including racks, cabling, power, UPS, cooling, environmental monitoring, and physical security.




- Oversee physical and virtual servers, storage, virtualization platforms, databases, monitoring, preventive maintenance, redundancy, and disaster-readiness.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of infrastructure, configurations, dependencies, licenses, warranties, AMC, and support arrangements.
- Lead campus-wide LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, Internet, VPN, and network security operations, ensuring reliable connectivity across institutions and locations.
- Manage network performance, bandwidth, redundancy, capacity, troubleshooting, security segmentation, access controls, uptime, and SLA compliance.
- Coordinate with ISPs, telecom operators, OEMs, and system integrators for infrastructure services, support, and service delivery.
- Establish centralized standards for procurement, deployment, configuration, maintenance, lifecycle management, replacement, and disposal of IT hardware.
- Manage desktops, laptops, workstations, printers, scanners, networking equipment, peripherals, and other IT assets.
- Maintain accurate IT asset records covering inventory, tagging, ownership, location, warranty, AMC, utilization, and retirement/disposal.

Desired Candidates Qualifications

- B.E / B.Tech in CSE, IT, ECE, EEE, or related discipline; M.E / M.Tech in Computer Science / IT; MBA in IT / Systems Management or related qualification will be preferred.




- Minimum 12–15 years of relevant IT experience, including 5 years in a senior IT leadership / management role.
- Proven experience in managing large-scale, multi-location or institution-wide IT operations.
- Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, enterprise technologies, cybersecurity, IT governance, information security, data protection, disaster recovery, business continuity, and IT service management.
- Proven experience in IT strategy, technology roadmaps, digital transformation, and technology project implementation.
- Experience in IT budgeting, procurement, vendor and contract management, asset management, and software licensing.
- Strong leadership, team management, stakeholder coordination, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, presentation, reporting, and documentation skills, with solid troubleshooting and risk management capabilities.
- Ability to assess emerging technologies and recommend appropriate solutions based on institutional requirements.
- Professional certifications in cybersecurity, cloud, IT service management, IT infrastructure, or project management will be an added advantage.
