Qualifications & Experience
Education:
- Graduate in any discipline; MBA/PGDM in HR or a certification in L&D;/Instructional Design preferred.
Role Overview The Head Learning & Development will be responsible for building the L&D; function from the ground up at EIM. This role will design and institutionalize the complete learning architecture from learning needs identification, content development, and LMS implementation to leadership development and capability building across corporate, regional, and field teams. Operating as a true business partner, the incumbent will work closely with business stakeholders to align learning interventions with organizational priorities, ensuring a skilled, safe, and future-ready workforce as EIM scales its EV charging and battery swapping network across India.
Key Responsibilities
1. Building the L&D; Function from Scratch
- Design, set up, and institutionalize the end-to-end L&D; framework, including learning strategy, governance, policies, processes, and annual training calendar.
- Conduct organization-wide Training Needs Identification (TNI) in partnership with business and functional heads.
- Define learning journeys and competency frameworks for corporate, regional, and frontline/field roles (Supervisors, Site In-Charges, Operators).
- Establish L&D; budgets, vendor/partner ecosystem, and measurement mechanisms (training effectiveness, ROI, learning metrics).
2. Content Development & Delivery
- Design and develop engaging learning content instructor-led, e-learning, blended, and on-the-job modules for behavioural, functional, technical, and safety training.
- Create role-based curricula and standardized training material for field operations, including safety, equipment handling, and customer-facing skills.
- Facilitate and deliver key programs personally,
and build a pool of internal trainers/SMEs through train-the-trainer initiatives.
- Continuously refresh content in line with business changes, technology upgrades, and learner feedback.
3. LMS & Digital Learning
- Evaluate, implement, and administer a Learning Management System (LMS) suited to a distributed, multi-location workforce.
- Drive adoption of digital and mobile-first learning across corporate and field teams.
- Manage learner data, course completion, certifications, and compliance training records on the LMS.
- Generate dashboards and analytics on learning coverage, effectiveness, and skill gaps for leadership review.
4. Business Partnering & Stakeholder Management
- Partner with business heads, regional teams, and HR colleagues to translate business priorities into targeted learning interventions.
- Act as a trusted advisor to leaders on capability building, talent development, and succession-linked learning.
- Collaborate with Operations, Safety, and Technical teams to embed learning into daily field routines (toolbox talks, on-site coaching, certifications).
- Manage external training partners, consultants, and content vendors to deliver quality outcomes within budget.
5. Leadership & Organizational Development
- Design and roll out leadership development, first-time manager, and high-potential programs.
- Support culture-building, onboarding/induction, and employee engagement initiatives through structured learning experiences.
- Champion a culture of continuous learning and growth across the organization.
6. Governance,
Reporting & Compliance
- Track and publish L&D; metrics — training man-days, coverage, effectiveness scores, and impact on business KPIs.
- Ensure completion of all statutory, safety, and compliance-related training across locations.
- Maintain data accuracy, documentation, and audit-readiness of all training records.
Experience:
- 8 to 15 years of experience in Learning & Development, with proven experience of setting up the L&D; function from scratch.
- Hands-on experience in content development, instructional design, and training delivery.
- Experience in implementing and managing LMS platforms and digital learning tools.
- Strong track record of partnering with business stakeholders in a multi-location, field-intensive environment (infrastructure, energy, logistics, retail, or similar industries preferred).
Technical & Functional Skills
- Instructional design methodologies (ADDIE or equivalent) and content authoring tools.
- LMS administration, e-learning platforms, and learning analytics.
- Training effectiveness measurement (Kirkpatrick or similar models).
- Proficiency in MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel) and reporting dashboards.
- Solid facilitation, presentation, and communication skills.
