Role Objective:
We are looking for an experienced and strategic Head – Human Resources and Administration (Plant & Corporate) to lead the overall HR and administration function of our organization.
The ideal candidate will have 20+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a reputed manufacturing organization, with strong exposure to both Plant HR and Corporate HR. The role requires a hands-on HR leader who can manage the complete employee lifecycle, lead HR teams, partner with business leadership, and drive HR processes across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Overall HR Leadership
- Lead and manage the overall HR function across Plant and Field locations.
- Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Act as a strategic HR partner to the Management and Business Leadership.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the HR team across functions and locations.
- Establish effective HR systems, processes, policies, and governance.
Plant HR & Employee Relations
- Manage end-to-end Plant HR operations and provide strong HR support to manufacturing operations.
- Handle employee relations, workforce engagement, discipline, grievance management, and employee communication.
- Manage manpower planning, workforce productivity, absenteeism, retention, and employee engagement.
- Work closely with functional leaders to address people-related matters.
- Manage shop-floor HR activities and ensure effective implementation of HR policies.
- Handle industrial relations and coordinate with employee representatives/workmen, wherever applicable.
Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
- Lead manpower planning and recruitment strategy for Plant and Sales functions.
- Drive hiring of critical positions, leadership roles, and functional talent.
- Build effective recruitment channels and talent pipelines.
- Ensure timely onboarding and manpower availability as per business requirements.
Performance Management & Talent Development
- Lead the organization's performance management and appraisal processes.
- Develop and monitor KRAs, KPIs, goal setting, and performance evaluation systems.
- Identify high-potential employees and develop succession planning initiatives.
- Drive learning, development, leadership development, and capability-building programs.
Compensation & Perks
- Lead salary structure, compensation benchmarking, annual increments, incentives, and benefits.
- Ensure internal equity and competitiveness of compensation practices.
- Work with Finance and Management on manpower budgets and annual HR budgets.
HR Policies, Compliance & Governance
- Develop, review, and implement HR policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with applicable labour laws and statutory requirements.
- Oversee statutory compliance related to Plant and Corporate HR.
- Maintain appropriate HR documentation, records, and audit readiness.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders for HR-related audits and compliance matters.
Employee Engagement & Culture
- Drive employee engagement and retention initiatives.
- Build a positive and performance-oriented organizational culture.
- Conduct employee connect programs, engagement activities, and feedback mechanisms.
- Develop initiatives to strengthen employee communication and organizational values.
HR Technology & Process Improvement
- Drive effective use of HRMS and digital HR systems.
- Improve HR processes through automation, analytics, and process standardization.
- Develop HR dashboards and reports to support Management decision-making.
- Track key HR metrics including attrition, manpower cost, absenteeism, hiring TAT, productivity, and employee engagement.
Qualifications & Experience:
- MBA / PGDM / Master's degree in Human Resources, Personnel Management, Industrial Relations, or a related discipline.
- 20+ years of overall HR experience, preferably in a reputed manufacturing organization.
- Strong experience in both Plant HR and Corporate HR.
- Proven experience in managing and leading an HR team.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing HR operations and employee relations.
- Experience in manpower planning, recruitment, performance management, compensation, employee engagement, and HR compliance.
- Strong understanding of applicable labour laws and statutory compliance.
- Experience in handling senior management and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and manage multiple HR priorities.
