Job Purpose

- To operate and monitor HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene) plastic drum manufacturing machines efficiently and safely, ensuring production targets, product quality, minimum rejection and compliance with SOP and EHS requirements.

Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor HDPE plastic drum manufacturing machines as per SOP and production requirements.
- Handle machine operations including start-up, shutdown, mould changeover and production changeover as required.
- Monitor key process parameters such as temperature, pressure, cycle time and machine settings.
- Operate and monitor extrusion blow moulding / blow moulding machines used for HDPE drum manufacturing.
- Ensure proper feeding and handling of HDPE raw material and additives as per production instructions.
- Monitor drum dimensions, weight, thickness, appearance and overall product quality.
- Identify and report defects such as leakage, uneven thickness, deformation, black spots, flash, cracks and improper moulding.
- Carry out routine machine checks and report abnormal noise, vibration, leakage or equipment malfunction to the Shift Incharge/Maintenance team.
- Ensure proper trimming, finishing and handling of manufactured drums.
- Coordinate with Quality Control, Maintenance, Stores and Production teams for smooth operations.
- Maintain proper production records, machine parameters, rejection reports and shift logbooks.
- Minimize raw-material wastage, rejection and machine downtime.




- Follow approved SOPs, work instructions and quality standards.
- Ensure proper use of PPE and compliance with all EHS and workplace safety procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and 5S standards around the machine and production area.
- Assist maintenance personnel during machine inspection and maintenance activities.
- Carry out proper shift handover, including machine condition, production status, quality issues and pending jobs.
- Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks and production improvement activities.

Required Qualification

- ITI / Diploma in Mechanical, Plastic Technology, Production or a related technical field preferred.
- 2–5 years of hands-on experience in HDPE plastic drum/container manufacturing.
- Experience with extrusion blow moulding machines will be preferred.

Required Skills

- Practical knowledge of HDPE plastic drum manufacturing processes
- Experience in operating blow moulding/extrusion blow moulding machines.
- Basic understanding of machine settings, temperature controls, pressure and cycle parameters.
- Ability to identify common moulding and product-quality defects.
- Basic mechanical troubleshooting and equipment-handling knowledge.
- Good understanding of production and safety procedures.
- Ability to work in a team and follow instructions from the Shift Incharge.
- Willingness to work in rotational shifts.
