About PitaaraPitaara is an Indore-based premium packaging brand creating culturally rooted packaging for Indian sweets, gifting and celebrations.
Our products involve detailed artwork, print finishes and production processes, which means the accuracy of our final print files is just as important as the design itself.
We are looking for a Graphic Designer – Prepress & Print Production who understands how to take artwork from a design file to a technically correct, production-ready print file.
This role is particularly suited to someone with experience in CorelDRAW, print production, packaging, prepress or commercial printing.
About the RoleThis is not purely a creative graphic-design position.
A major part of the role involves preparing, checking, correcting and processing artwork for actual printing and packaging production.
You will work with files created in CorelDRAW, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop and ensure that artwork is correctly prepared for production according to dimensions, printing requirements and manufacturing specifications.
Solid attention to detail and practical understanding of print production are important for this role.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare artwork and design files for printing and packaging production.
- Review artwork for technical accuracy before it is sent for production.
- Work extensively with CorelDRAW for final production-ready artwork.
- Correctly migrate or recreate files from Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and other formats into CorelDRAW when required.
- Set up artwork using accurate product dimensions and real-world measurements.
- Ensure correct margins, bleed, alignment, positioning and print areas.
- Check image resolution, colour modes,
fonts, linked assets and other technical aspects of artwork.
- Make corrections to artwork based on printing and production requirements.
- Prepare files for different print processes and finishing requirements.
- Arrange and impose artwork for printing when required.
- Make basic design changes, text corrections, resizing and artwork modifications.
- Maintain consistency across different sizes and variants of packaging artwork.
- Coordinate with the production team to resolve artwork or printing-related issues.
- Verify final files before they are released for production.
- Organise artwork and production files in a clear and systematic manner.
Required SkillsWe are looking for someone with:
- Strong working knowledge of CorelDRAW.
- Working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator.
- Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop.
- Understanding of print-production and prepress workflows.
- Good understanding of dimensions, measurements, margins and bleed.
- Understanding of image resolution and print quality.
- Knowledge of colour modes and print colour preparation.
- Ability to correctly handle fonts, vectors, images and linked assets.
- Ability to identify and fix common print-file and artwork issues.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work with precise measurements and production specifications.
- Ability to communicate and coordinate effectively with the design and production teams.
Good to HaveExperience in any of the following would be an advantage:
- Packaging design or packaging production
- Printing press or commercial printing
- Offset printing
- Digital printing
- Folding cartons or paperboard packaging
- Prepress operations
- Advertising or print-production agencies
- Artwork adaptation and resizing
- Print finishing processes such as foil, UV, embossing or similar applications
These are preferred skills and are not all mandatory. Who We’re Looking ForWe are looking for someone who understands an important distinction:
A design looking correct on a computer screen does not necessarily mean it is ready for printing.
You should be comfortable checking the technical details behind a design and ensuring that the final artwork can actually be produced correctly.
You will likely be a strong fit if you:
- Enjoy precise and detail-oriented work.
- Are comfortable working with dimensions and measurements.
- Understand how artwork behaves when it moves from screen to print.
- Can identify technical problems before a file reaches production.
- Are comfortable making corrections without unnecessarily altering the original design.
- Take responsibility for the accuracy of final artwork.
- Can work closely with designers and production teams.
- Are organised, dependable and careful with files.
- Candidates with prior experience in a printing press, packaging company, print-production studio or similar environment will be preferred.
