About the role
We're building out Foxee's freelance editor roster, and right now we're specifically looking for editors strong at long-form-to-short-form conversion — turning lengthy recorded content (seminars, panels, keynotes, webinars) into tight, cinematic, highly watchable reels and shorts. Not trimming a video down — finding the moments inside hours of footage that are actually worth watching and cutting them with intent.
Key responsibilities
- Edit long-form recorded video (seminars, panels, webinars, keynotes) into short-form reels and clips
- Identify highlight moments, hooks, and timestamps worth cutting into standalone content
- Apply a cinematic style to short-form edits — pacing, sound design, captions, color — not just raw trims
- Work directly with Foxee's ops team on turnaround and revisions (we handle client communication, you focus on the edit)
- Maintain consistent quality and turnaround across multiple freelance projects
Ideal candidate
- Proven experience editing long-form content (webinars, panels, seminars, keynotes) into short-form, high-retention reels, with a portfolio or showreel to prove it
- Strong skills in video editing and production for digital-first content
- Proficiency in video color grading for visual quality and consistency
- Ability to create and integrate motion graphics to support storytelling
- Comfortable with industry-standard editing software — Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, After Effects, or equivalent
- Solid understanding of aspect ratios, codecs, audio levels, and export settings for social and web platforms
- An eye for pacing and story, not just technical cutting — the same instinct that drives attention to detail and high-quality output
- Reliable and deadline-driven, comfortable managing multiple freelance projects remotely and asynchronously
- Looking for ongoing freelance work, not a one-off project
