Role Description The Freelance Video Editor will work on-site in Chennai on a contract basis, editing video content for various formats such as social media, marketing campaigns, internal communications, and long-form projects. Day-to-day responsibilities include organizing and managing raw footage, assembling rough and final cuts, adding graphics, transitions, and basic visual effects, and ensuring consistent color and sound quality. The role involves collaborating with directors, producers, and other team members to interpret creative briefs, refine story flow, and deliver content aligned with brand guidelines and project objectives.

The Video





Editor will also optimize videos for different platforms and file formats, maintain project files and backups, and meet agreed deadlines for deliverables.

Qualifications

- Strong proficiency in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve) and familiarity with basic motion graphics tools.
- Experience with color correction, sound editing, and media management workflows, including organizing footage and maintaining project timelines.
- Ability to interpret creative briefs, apply visual storytelling principles, and collaborate effectively with creative and production teams.
- Understanding of digital content formats, aspect ratios, and export settings for platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, and other social media channels.
- Attention to detail, time-management skills, and the ability to work in office in Chennai according to project schedules.
- Prior experience in video production or post-production; a portfolio or showreel demonstrating relevant work is required.
- Diploma or degree in Film, Media, Communication, or a related field is preferred, though equivalent professional experience is also valued.
