The Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, availability, and reliable operation of HEMM and other heavy equipment deployed at mining/project sites.

The candidate should have robust practical knowledge of Heavy Earth Moving Machinery (HEMM), preventive and breakdown maintenance, equipment troubleshooting, and maintenance planning.

1. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Plan and supervise preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of HEMM and mining equipment.
- Ensure maximum availability and reliability of equipment deployed at the mine/project site.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and engine-related problems.
- Supervise maintenance and repair activities carried out by technicians, mechanics, and operators.
- Prepare and implement preventive maintenance schedules as per OEM recommendations and equipment operating hours.
- Maintain proper records of equipment breakdowns, preventive maintenance, running hours, spare parts, and repairs.
- Monitor equipment performance, fuel consumption, operating hours, and maintenance history.
- Identify recurring breakdowns and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Coordinate with OEM/service engineers and authorized service agencies whenever required.
- Ensure timely availability of critical spare parts, lubricants, filters, and other maintenance materials.
- Inspect equipment regularly and identify potential failures before major breakdowns.
- Maintain proper documentation of machine history, breakdown reports, service records, and maintenance schedules.
- Monitor maintenance costs and control unnecessary expenditure.
- Ensure proper utilization and handling of tools, equipment, and spare parts.




- Coordinate with the Operations/Mining team to minimize equipment downtime and maintain production continuity.
- Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out safely and as per company procedures.
- Conduct toolbox talks and ensure technicians follow required safety practices during maintenance activities.

1. HEMM KNOWLEDGE

Candidate should have practical working knowledge of maintenance and troubleshooting of HEMM / mining equipment, such as:

- Excavators
- Wheel Loaders
- Dumpers / Tippers
- Dozers
- Motor Graders
- Water Tankers
- Drilling Machines / Drill Rigs
- Crushers and associated equipment, wherever applicable
- Other heavy construction and mining equipment

Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, transmission, differential, axle, braking systems, electrical systems, cooling systems, lubrication systems, and undercarriage components will be required.

1. MAINTENANCE PLANNING

- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance plans.
- Monitor equipment-wise service intervals and preventive maintenance schedules.
- Maintain equipment availability and utilization reports.
- Analyze breakdown frequency and equipment downtime.
- Plan major repairs, overhauling, and component replacement.
- Maintain adequate stock of critical spare parts and consumables.

1. QUALIFICATION

- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution.
- Additional certification in HEMM maintenance will be an advantage.

1. EXPERIENCE

- Relevant experience in HEMM / Mining Equipment Maintenance is required.
- Experience in mining, quarrying, infrastructure, or heavy equipment operations will be preferred.
- Hands-on experience with preventive and breakdown maintenance of heavy machinery is essential.
