Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Device42 ITSM Asset Manager with strong hands-on experience in Device42 Administration, IT Asset Management (ITAM), CMDB, discovery and service dependency mapping. The candidate will be responsible for managing the Device42 platform, maintaining accurate asset and configuration data, supporting discovery and dependency mapping, and integrating Device42 with enterprise ITSM platforms.

Key Responsibilities

- Administer and manage the Device42 platform, including Main Appliance, Remote Collectors, discovery jobs, credentials, schedules, permissions, tags, dashboards and reports.
- Configure and manage Device42 discovery across Windows, Linux, VMware, network devices, storage, databases, middleware, containers and cloud environments.
- Manage IT Asset Management (ITAM) and end-to-end asset lifecycle activities.
- Maintain and improve CMDB data quality, including reconciliation, normalization, deduplication, identification and validation.
- Create and maintain application and service dependency maps in Device42.
- Troubleshoot Device42 discovery, connectivity, credential, synchronization, integration, API and data-quality issues.
- Support integrations between Device42 and ServiceNow / BMC Remedy, monitoring, vulnerability management and automation platforms.
- Use REST APIs, JSON, PowerShell and/or Python for automation, reporting and data validation.




- Monitor Device42 appliance and collector health, discovery success, storage, performance, capacity and license utilization.
- Manage Device42 upgrades, patching, backups, recovery, security hardening and access controls.
- Support incident, problem, change, capacity, vulnerability and audit processes using accurate asset and dependency information.
- Conduct asset reconciliation and investigate unknown, unauthorized, duplicate or stale assets.
- Prepare dashboards and reports covering asset inventory, lifecycle, CMDB health, discovery coverage, compliance and dependency mapping.
- Coordinate with infrastructure, application, cybersecurity, ITSM, procurement, finance and other stakeholder teams.
- Act as the primary escalation point for critical Device42, CMDB and IT Asset Management issues.

Mandatory Requirements

- 8–10 years of overall experience in IT Infrastructure, IT Asset Management, CMDB, Configuration Management or ITSM.
- Strong hands-on experience with Device42 in an enterprise environment.
- Hands-on experience with Device42 Discovery and Remote Collectors.
- Strong experience in CMDB and IT Asset Management (ITAM).
- Experience in application/service dependency mapping.
- Experience with Device42 administration, troubleshooting, reporting, APIs and integrations.
- Experience integrating Device42 with ServiceNow and/or BMC Remedy.
- Good understanding of infrastructure environments including Windows, Linux, VMware, network, storage, databases and cloud.
- Knowledge of REST APIs, JSON, SQL/reporting and PowerShell or Python.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.

Good to Have

- Device42 Administrator / Implementation / Discovery certification or training.
- ITIL 4 Foundation certification.
- ServiceNow Discovery / Service Mapping experience.
- BMC Remedy / CMDB experience.
- Experience in regulated or large enterprise environments.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms, VMware and infrastructure monitoring.
- Experience with ITAM audits, asset lifecycle, licensing and compliance.
- Experience with automation and dashboard development.
