Join Data Eminence as a remote Database Administrator and help manage, maintain, secure, and optimize database systems that support business applications and critical operations. You will work on database configuration, performance monitoring, backup and recovery, data integrity, access management, and troubleshooting to ensure databases remain reliable, secure, and efficient.

The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of database management systems, SQL, and data organization. This role provides hands-on experience with relational and NoSQL databases, database administration, performance optimization, security practices, and modern data-management technologies.

Full Description

At Data Eminence, we understand that reliable database infrastructure is essential for building and maintaining effective technology solutions. As a Database Administrator, you will work closely with developers, system administrators, and other technical teams to manage database environments, maintain data availability, and ensure the performance and security of database systems.

Your responsibilities will include

- Install, configure, maintain, and manage database management systems.
- Monitor database performance, availability, and resource utilization.
- Create, modify, and maintain database schemas, tables, indexes, and relationships.
- Write, execute, and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and database operations.
- Manage database users, roles, permissions, and access controls.
- Implement database security measures and protect sensitive information.
- Perform regular database backups and manage recovery procedures.




- Monitor database logs and troubleshoot performance or connectivity issues.
- Identify and resolve database bottlenecks through query and index optimization.
- Maintain data integrity, consistency, and reliability.
- Support database migrations, upgrades, and configuration changes.
- Manage relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MariaDB.
- Work with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB and Firebase where required.
- Assist developers with database design and application integration.
- Monitor storage capacity and plan for database growth.
- Maintain database documentation, backup schedules, and operational procedures.
- Support disaster recovery planning and database restoration activities.
- Follow database administration best practices and security standards.

You will gain practical experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, MariaDB, MongoDB, SQL, database design, indexing, query optimization, database backups, replication, access management, Prisma ORM, database migrations, Docker, cloud databases, and monitoring tools. This is a hands-on technical role where you will work with real database environments, improve system performance, troubleshoot database issues, maintain data security,



and develop practical skills in managing reliable and scalable database infrastructure.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- 0–2 years of experience in database administration, database development, or relevant projects.
- Strong understanding of relational database concepts and SQL.
- Familiarity with database management systems such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MariaDB.
- Basic understanding of database architecture, normalization, and relational modeling.
- Knowledge of database indexing and query optimization.
- Familiarity with database backup and recovery procedures.
- Understanding of database security, user permissions, and access management.
- Familiarity with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of database migrations and version control.
- Familiarity with Linux and command-line operations is preferred.
- Knowledge of cloud database services and Docker is a plus.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Good attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a remote environment.
