Role Description The Compliance Officer (Merchant Banking) role is a full-time, on-site position based in MumbaiThe role involves monitoring and ensuring adherence to applicable regulations and internal policies across merchant banking activities. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing transactions and documentation for compliance, conducting risk assessments, and supporting regulatory filings and reporting.

The Compliance

Officer will draft and update compliance frameworks, guidelines, and standard operating procedures, and provide guidance to business teams on regulatory requirements. The role also includes coordinating with internal stakeholders and external regulators or auditors,



investigating potential compliance issues, and contributing to training programs that promote a culture of compliance.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess skills in Compliance Management and Regulatory Compliance, with demonstrated experience in merchant banking or related financial services.

- Candidates should possess robust Analytical Skills to review transactions, interpret regulations, and assess compliance risks.

- Candidates should possess effective Communication skills to prepare reports, interact with regulators, and collaborate with internal teams.

- Candidates should possess Finance-related knowledge, including understanding of merchant banking products, capital markets, and financial regulations.

- 3+ years of relevant experience in compliance, risk, or regulatory functions within financial services or merchant banking.

- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Law, Business, or a related field; professional certifications in compliance or risk management are an advantage.

- Proficiency in using compliance and documentation tools, and strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

- Familiarity with local and international regulatory frameworks applicable to merchant banking, and commitment to ethical and transparent business practices.
