Role & responsibilities
- Analyse claims, incident and operational data to identify trends, patterns and areas of risk.
- Develop and maintain SQL queries to extract, join, validate and analyse claims-related datasets.
- Use Python for data cleaning, transformation, analysis and automation of recurring reports.
- Review claims and incident information for completeness, accuracy and consistency.
- Analyse claim volumes, severity, ageing, turnaround time, frequency and resolution trends.
- Identify anomalies, discrepancies and unusual patterns within claims data.
- Build analytical reports and dashboards to monitor claims performance and key metrics.
- Automate recurring claims reporting and data-processing activities using SQL and Python.
- Monitor outstanding claims and identify cases requiring follow-up or escalation.
- Coordinate with Australia-based Operations, HR, Finance, insurers, brokers and other stakeholders to obtain and validate required information.
- Work closely with India-based internal teams to ensure timely completion of claims-related activities.
- Communicate claim status, issues, data findings and recommendations clearly to relevant stakeholders.
- Perform data reconciliation between claims records and operational, employee or financial datasets.
- Provide data-driven insights to help identify potential operational and financial risks.
- Develop recommendations to improve claims processes, turnaround time and accuracy.
- Support management reporting, audits and periodic business reviews.
- Contribute to process improvement and automation initiatives.
Preferred candidate profile
- Strong proficiency in SQL, including joins, aggregations, CTEs and data validation.
- Good working knowledge of Python, particularly Pandas and NumPy.
- Solid MS Excel and data-analysis capabilities.
- Strong analytical, investigative and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong stakeholder management and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with Indian and Australian stakeholders.
- Confidence in handling discussions and calls with Australia-based teams.
- Ability to clearly explain data findings and business issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and data integrity.
- Ability to manage multiple cases, priorities and deadlines.
