Company
CIEScore is focused on solving the ₹10,000 Cr candidate ghosting crisis by helping employers reliably identify high-probability joiners. The platform gives recruiters and talent acquisition teams data-driven insight into candidate behavior and commitment, so they can make better hiring decisions and cut offer-to-join drop-offs. At the same time, CIEScore enables talent to build and showcase "Professional Credit," a record of reliability and professional integrity.
By aligning employer needs with candidate accountability, we aim to build a more transparent and efficient hiring ecosystem, and to change how trust and commitment are measured in the talent market.
Role The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) is a full time, remote role that owns CIEScore's technology vision, strategy, and execution. You will architect and scale the platform behind candidate scoring and Professional Credit, and you will make sure it fits how hiring works in practice, from sourcing and screening to offer, notice period, and joining.
You will lead engineering, data, and product-tech teams, set architectural and security standards, and prioritize initiatives against business outcomes. You will work closely with the founders, product, data, and operations teams, and with recruiters, TA leaders, and HR-tech partners, to turn real hiring pain points into a clear technology roadmap. You will also manage technology budgets and vendor relationships, build engineering best practices, and mentor technical leaders in a high-performance, inclusive culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute the technology roadmap for the scoring engine, credit insights, and employer-facing products.
- Design scalable, secure, API-first architecture, including integrations with ATS, HRMS, and recruitment platforms.
- Lead the development of data and ML models that predict joining probability and candidate reliability, with a focus on accuracy, explainability,
and fairness.
- Own data privacy, security, and compliance, including India's DPDP Act, consent management, and responsible handling of candidate data.
- Build, hire, and mentor a distributed engineering team, and set the engineering culture.
- Represent technology in conversations with employers, investors, and partners.
Qualifications
- Strong track record in software and product development, having built and scaled a technology platform from early stage to production.
- Hands-on understanding of talent acquisition and HR tech: the recruitment funnel, offer-to-join drop-offs, candidate ghosting, notice-period dynamics, and recruiter workflows. Experience building or leading products at an ATS, hiring marketplace, job platform, background verification, or recruitment-tech company is strongly preferred.
- Expertise in IT strategy and architecture, designing secure, scalable systems aligned with business goals.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure, modern frameworks, APIs, and third-party integrations.
- Experience in analytics, data engineering, or ML-driven products, ideally scoring, risk, or behavioral prediction models, with awareness of bias and fairness in hiring-related algorithms.
- Familiarity with data privacy and compliance requirements for candidate and employee data.
- Proven leadership of distributed engineering teams, including hiring, mentoring, and performance management.
- Experience leading cross-functional initiatives from concept to deployment.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder skills, with the ability to influence executive decisions and explain technical concepts to recruiters, HR leaders, and other non-technical audiences.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Good to have
- Experience as a founder, co-founder, or early technology leader at a startup.
- Existing relationships in the TA, staffing, or HR-tech ecosystem.
