Role Description This is a full time, on-site Certified HCC Medical Coder role based in the Greater Chennai Area. The Certified HCC Medical Coder will review medical records, interpret clinical documentation, and assign accurate HCC and ICD codes in accordance with established guidelines and payer requirements. Day-to-day responsibilities include validating code selections for risk adjustment, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and meeting productivity and quality benchmarks.

The role involves collaborating with physicians, clinical staff, and coding teams to clarify documentation, reduce coding errors, and support accurate reimbursement.



The coder will also participate in ongoing training, audits, and process improvements to maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding rules and best practices.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong Medical Coding and Coding Experience skills, with a focus on HCC and ICD coding for risk adjustment.
- Candidates should possess knowledge of Medical Terminology and Health Information Management to accurately interpret clinical documentation.
- Candidates should possess an RHIT or equivalent credential, or other recognized coding certifications (e.g., CPC, CCS, CRC) from accredited bodies.
- Candidates should possess familiarity with healthcare payer guidelines, compliance standards, and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Candidates should possess strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to meet defined accuracy and productivity targets.
- Candidates should possess good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with clinical and administrative teams.
- Candidates should possess a diploma or degree in a health-related field; prior experience in HCC or risk adjustment coding is highly beneficial.
