CATEGORY HEAD – CONSUMER LIGHTING | KOLKATA

We are hiring a Category Head – Consumer Lighting for a leading FMCG/FMEG organisation based in Kolkata.

The role will lead the Consumer Lighting category with end-to-end responsibility for Category Strategy, Product Portfolio Management, Brand Management, Innovation, Pricing, Profitability, Consumer Insights and Go-to-Market Strategy.

The incumbent will manage a ₹250 Cr Consumer Lighting portfolio and work closely with Sales, R&D;, Supply Chain, Procurement, Manufacturing and Finance to drive profitable growth, market share and brand equity.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Develop and execute the annual and long-term Category Strategy and Business Plan
- Own the complete Consumer Lighting Product Portfolio including LED Bulbs, Battens, Panel Lights, Downlights, Emergency Lights and Rechargeable Lighting
- Drive Product Management, Portfolio Management and Product Lifecycle Management
- Lead New Product Development (NPD), Product Innovation and Product Launches
- Identify consumer trends, competitive activity and emerging market opportunities
- Translate Consumer Insights and Market Research into product and marketing strategies
- Develop category-specific Brand, Marketing, ATL, BTL, Digital and In-store Activation plans
- Own Pricing Strategy, Gross Margin, Contribution Margin and Portfolio Profitability
- Drive Go-to-Market (GTM) Strategy, Distribution, Channel Development and Retail Visibility
- Support General Trade, Modern Trade, E-commerce, Institutional and Project Business
- Partner with Sales to improve product availability, retailer engagement and channel performance
- Work with Supply Chain and Operations on Demand Forecasting, Inventory Optimisation and S&OP;
- Track Revenue Growth, Market Share, Marketing ROI and Recent Product Performance
- Lead, coach and develop the Consumer Lighting category/product team

CANDIDATE PROFILE

- 10–15 years of relevant experience




- Strong experience in Product Management / Category Management / Brand Management
- Experience in the Lighting / Consumer Lighting / Electrical / FMEG industry is essential
- Proven experience managing sizeable product portfolios and driving business growth
- Strong commercial understanding of Pricing, Margins, Profitability and Market Share
- Experience in Consumer Insights, Product Innovation, NPD and GTM Strategy
- Solid cross-functional leadership and stakeholder management capabilities
- Experience working across Sales, Marketing, R&D;, Manufacturing, Procurement and Supply Chain

EDUCATION

- MBA in Marketing preferred or equivalent postgraduate qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing or related discipline
