About Youth Ki Awaaz

Youth Ki Awaaz (YKA) is India’s largest civic participation platform for young people, a space to tell their own stories, engage with civic issues through polling and data, and turn their voices into actions that shift public narratives and policy. Over 18 years, YKA has built a writer network, a campaigns and programs ecosystem, and a suite of civic intelligence products including Yoot, our WhatsApp-based polling tool, and Chorus, our discourse analysis framework.

About the Role We are looking for a Campaign Manager with a specialisation in climate change communications, to lead the conceptualisation, development and execution of campaigns across YKA and Yoot.

This is a senior, hands-on role for someone with a robust background and expertise in areas including climate and energy communications and community engagement, who can translate complex issues into compelling narratives and campaigns that young people can understand, relate to and participate in.

You will work across campaign strategy, storytelling, research, social media, community engagement and policy/partner management, bringing together different teams and stakeholders to take campaigns from idea to execution.

Key ResponsibilitiesCampaign Strategy &

• Narrative Development

- Conceptualise and lead end-to-end campaigns across a range of social, civic, environmental and public-interest issues, including but not limited to climate change, energy and sustainability.
- Develop compelling narratives around complex issues, translating research, data, policy developments and technical information into accessible, engaging and action-oriented communication for young Indians and wider public audiences.
- Identify emerging conversations, cultural moments, audience interests and public issues that can become meaningful campaign opportunities.
- Develop campaign objectives, audience strategies, messaging frameworks, content formats, channels, timelines and success metrics.
- Bring a strong understanding of public-interest communications, youth culture and the narratives shaping conversations across different issues and communities.

Content, Creative &

• Community Engagement

- Conceptualise, write, edit and oversee campaign content across digital platforms, including social media, video, visual and interactive formats.
- Develop campaign narratives, creative concepts,



content calendars and communication plans in collaboration with writers, researchers, designers, video creators and community teams.
- Design campaigns that encourage young people to participate, share experiences, express their views and take action.
- Use YKA’s youth community and Yoot to understand audience perspectives, surface lived experiences and create meaningful opportunities for participation.
- Ideate audience engagement strategies and social media creatives, and source, edit and publish relevant user-generated content where appropriate.
- Ensure campaigns are grounded in young people’s lived experiences, interests and concerns.
- Design storytelling workshops based on the thematic focus, and facilitate workshops (offline or virtually) with participants in English/Hindi.
- Mentor the participants post workshops, to support their storytelling skill development

Partner Management &

• Campaign Execution

- Work with nonprofits, foundations, institutions, social-impact organisations, brands and other partners to develop and execute campaigns.
- Translate partner objectives into strong, audience-facing campaign strategies, narratives and communication plans.
- Own campaigns end-to-end, from conceptualisation and planning through execution, amplification and reporting.
- Lead campaign meetings and manage partner communication, expectations, approvals, deliverables and timelines.
- Coordinate content, design, video, social media, community engagement and other campaign requirements, including online and offline activations where required.
- Build strong working relationships across internal and external stakeholders while ensuring the quality, relevance and integrity of campaigns.

Measurement, Insights &

• Learning

- Define and track campaign KPIs across reach, engagement, participation and other agreed outcomes.
- Use youth audience intelligence, community feedback and campaign performance to inform and continuously refine campaign strategy.
- Develop post-campaign reports,



synthesise insights and identify learnings that can strengthen future campaigns.

What We’re Looking For

- 8 years of experience in campaign management, communications, digital media, public engagement, social impact or a related field.
- Strong professional experience in climate and/or energy communications is essential.
- Demonstrated understanding of climate change, energy transition, environmental issues and the narratives shaping these conversations.
- Proven ability to translate complex topics, research and policy into clear, compelling public-facing communication.
- Experience developing and managing campaigns from strategy through execution and reporting.
- Excellent writing, editing, storytelling,communication and facilitation skills.
- Strong understanding of digital platforms, social media and youth audiences.
- Experience managing multiple stakeholders and external partners.
- Strong project management, organisation and coordination skills.
- Ability to work across research, content, creative and community teams.
- Ability to take ownership, work independently and manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Fluency in English and Hindi.

Good to Have
- Experience in PR and media outreach, particularly getting climate and social impact stories into local and regional media.
- Existing relationships with journalists and media organisations.
- Experience developing media outreach and amplification strategies.
- Fluency or working proficiency in any third Indian language.
