ABOUT KINGSTON EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTE

Kingston Educational Institute (KEI) is a multidisciplinary education society operating since 2017 from a 28-acre campus in Barasat, Kolkata. KEI runs colleges in engineering, law, management, science, healthcare and polytechnic education, along with a multi-specialty hospital.

Through its skilling arm, KEI delivers government-funded, CSR-supported and fee-based skilling programs across West Bengal, Tripura, Meghalaya and other states. As part of its national expansion, KEI is now establishing its presence in Andhra Pradesh, starting with Visakhapatnam.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a Business Manager to build KEI's skilling business in Andhra Pradesh from the ground up. The role has two equally important parts:

- Government projects: winning and delivering skilling projects under APSSDC and central schemes
- Industry partnerships: building strong relationships with manufacturing and service industries in and around the Visakhapatnam SEZs and industrial clusters, understanding their workforce needs, and connecting them with job-ready candidates

This is a hands-on, field-driven role for someone who knows the Visakhapatnam industrial landscape and wants to build a business, not maintain one.

Reports to: Business Head – Skill Development

Location: Visakhapatnam, with travel across North Coastal Andhra Pradesh

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

State Skill Mission and Government Projects

- Identify, pursue and win skilling projects from APSSDC, district skill committees and other AP government departments
- Track and bid for opportunities under PMKVY, DDU-GKY, NAPS and state-funded skilling programs
- Prepare proposals and tender documents, and complete empanelment and centre accreditation in AP
- Build working relationships with APSSDC, district administrations, labour and industries departments





Industry Partnerships and Business Development
- Build an employer network across manufacturing and service industries in Visakhapatnam and Anakapalli, including SEZs, industrial parks, pharma, apparel, engineering, port and logistics, IT/ITES, hospitality, healthcare and retail
- Meet HR heads, plant heads and business owners to understand their workforce and manpower requirements
- Convert industry demand into business: placement tie-ups, customised training, apprenticeships and workforce solutions
- Sign MoUs with employers and manage a pipeline of leads, proposals and closures

Candidate Mobilisation

- Build mobilisation networks across Visakhapatnam, Anakapalli, Vizianagaram, Srikakulam and Alluri Sitarama Raju districts
- Work with panchayats, SHGs, ITIs, polytechnics, colleges and NGOs to source candidates
- Run mobilisation drives, job fairs and counselling camps
- Match candidates to the right training program or job role

Project Operations

- Set up and manage training centres as per scheme and accreditation norms
- Oversee training, assessment, certification, placement and retention tracking
- Hire and manage local trainers, mobilisers and centre staff
- Ensure full compliance with scheme guidelines, with zero tolerance for malpractice

Revenue, Cash Flow and Receivables
- Achieve annual revenue targets across government projects and industry partnerships
- Track project cash flow and keep costs within budget




- Raise claims and invoices on time and follow up on payments from government agencies and industry clients
- Reduce outstanding dues and receivables ageing

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

- 6–10 years of experience, with at least 3 years in skill development, workforce solutions or industry business development in Andhra Pradesh
- Working network with APSSDC or other AP government departments
- Established relationships with HR and plant leadership in Visakhapatnam-area industries and SEZs
- Proven experience in large-scale candidate mobilisation
- Fluency in Telugu and English (Hindi is an advantage)
- Graduate; MBA or PG in management, HR or social work preferred
- Experience in staffing, manpower services, HR outsourcing or apprenticeship deployment is a strong advantage
- Experience setting up a new branch or regional business from scratch is an advantage

ELIGIBILITY AND INTEGRITY

- Must not have worked with any organisation that has been blacklisted or debarred under any government or CSR skilling program
- Shortlisted candidates must submit a signed self-declaration and explicit background verification

COMPENSATION AND GROWTH

- Fixed monthly salary, commensurate with experience
- Variable pay linked to projects won, industry business closed, project completion and payments received
