Job Summary We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Botany Teacher to join our faculty. The ideal candidate will be responsible for teaching plant sciences, plant anatomy, physiology, taxonomy, ecology, and genetics to students. You will design engaging lesson plans, conduct hands-on laboratory sessions, guide field research, and inspire a deep understanding of plant life and environmental systems.
Key Responsibilities Instruction &
• Curriculum Design: Develop, prepare, and deliver comprehensive lectures, course materials, and lesson plans according to the prescribed curriculum. Teach core topics including Plant Anatomy, Physiology, Plant Taxonomy, Mycology, Ecology, and Biotechnology. Integrate digital tools, multimedia presentations, and interactive learning methodologies into classroom teaching. Practical &
- Laboratory Management: Design and supervise hands-on practical experiments, plant dissection, microscopic studies, and lab activities. Ensure proper setup, calibration, safety, and maintenance of laboratory equipment (microscopes, specimens, chemical reagents, and plant growth chambers). Fieldwork &
- Experiential Learning: Organize and lead botanical field trips, local plant collection trips, and visits to botanical gardens, herbariums, or nature reserves. Guide students in sample identification, preparation of herbarium sheets, and field survey techniques. Assessment &
- Mentorship: Evaluate student learning through tests, laboratory reports, assignments, projects,
and practical examinations. Provide continuous feedback, academic counseling, and guidance to support student development. Mentor students pursuing research projects, competitive exams, or higher studies in biological sciences. Administrative &
- Departmental Duties: Maintain accurate attendance records, grades, and progress reports. Collaborate with fellow science educators on interdisciplinary projects and school events (e.g., Science Fairs, Eco Clubs). Stay updated on recent advancements, research, and discoveries in the field of plant sciences.
Required Qualifications &
Skills Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Botany, Plant Science, or Life Sciences (Master’s/Ph.D. preferred for higher education or senior secondary levels). B.Ed. or relevant state teaching license/certification (if applying for school-level positions). Experience: 1–3+ years of teaching experience in Botany or Biology at the target academic level. Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of plant morphology, taxonomy, physiology, ecology, and laboratory techniques. Soft Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, strong classroom management, organizational abilities, and a passion for student engagement.
Working Conditions Location: Classroom, Science Laboratory, and Outdoor Field Sites. Employment Type: Full-Time / Part-Time / Contractual.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
